Episode 3 of Season 2 of "Gannibal" picks up right where it left off, with the intense gunbattle raging at Jin’s store. Daigo is plunged into a harrowing episode of PTSD after he takes down a Goto who was aiming his weapon at innocent children. When he snaps out of his trance, the gravity of their impending defeat dawns on him. In a moment of desperation, he decides to adopt the ruthless tactics of the Gotos and embarks on a rampage of his own.
He encounters Sadamu, who laughs mockingly even as Daigo unleashes a flurry of punches on him. Yosuke, wielding a rifle, prepares to end Sadamu's life, but the situation takes an unexpected turn. Daigo manages to incapacitate Sadamu with relative ease, yet he finds himself encircled by enemy combatants. Yosuke receives the chilling order to eliminate Daigo, but he Hesitates, struggling on the edge of loyalty and morality, before ultimately sparing the lives of the Gotos around him. Sadamu seizes the moment to flee, leaving Yosuke to weep over his own betrayal.
At the Goto residence, Keisuke instructs the women to shield Sumire, proclaiming her as his wife. A girl's comment hints at the futility of Sumire's escape. Outside, the Gotos celebrate their victory by torching the bodies of fallen policemen, but Makoto notices that Keisuke's visage betrays no joy in their triumph.
Back at the store, reinforcements arrive and apprehend the remaining Gotos, while the Chief and Shiina are thankfully unharmed. Yosuke surrenders himself to the authorities, but Daigo, grateful for his role in saving the children, refrains from arresting him. Yosuke observes with relief that his 'livestock' charge has been reunited with Kanako.
Elsewhere, Iwao subjects Kanemaru to brutal torture in a bid to uncover the informant. However, he is stunned to discover that Kanemaru possesses a Goto watch, revealing his true identity as the grandson of Kinji, Gin's elderly brother. Bitterness consumes him, fueling his resentment towards Gin, the youngest sibling who ascended to the family's head when he believed he was the rightful heir. He mocks Iwao's ignorance about Gin and "That Man," and in a fit of rage, Iwao bites off part of Kanemaru's ear, but the latter refuses to be silenced. Iwao's resolve to terminate Kanemaru is only solidified by the realization that the current leaders of the Goto clan are all descendants of Gin. Kanemaru spits in his face, sealing his fate as Iwao brutally executes him.
Makoto makes an attempt to inquire about the Gotos at the store, only to be met by Daigo's voice crackling through the walkie-talkie. Keisuke, eager to speak, is promptly shut down by Makoto, who taunts triumphantly about holding Daigo's wife and child captive. This revelation stuns even Keisuke. In response, Daigo issues a dire ultimatum: Yosuke's life for a hostage exchange, demanding that Keisuke come alone to the old tunnel.
However, Ryuji and Makoto mock Keisuke for not sacrificing Yosuke for the supposed greater good, casting doubts on his loyalty and even wondering aloud if he might be the informer. Iwao, sensing weakness, urges Keisuke to prove his allegiance by eliminating Yuki. Outnumbered and under immense pressure, Keisuke reluctantly agrees. But just as Iwao prepares to carry out the grim deed, Kiyoshi intervenes, courageously confessing that he is the snitch.
Iwao, furious, intends to end Kiyoshi's life, but Keisuke steps forward to take the blame. A nostalgic flashback unfolds, depicting Kiyoshi bringing presents for young Keisuke and Yosuke, expressing his desire to transform their village and hoping that if he fails, Keisuke will one day fulfill that dream. In the present, Kiyoshi repeats these sentiments, moving Keisuke to tears. As Keisuke plunges a knife into Kiyoshi, it is actually Kiyoshi who pushes it deeper, sacrificing himself. In his dying breath, Keisuke wishes his father had fled instead.
Another flashback transports us to a happier time, when young Yosuke and Ai joined Kiyoshi and Keisuke in carefree fun. Keisuke, grief-stricken over his father's loss, finds solace in Iwao's rough but reassuring manner. Iwao, keen to avoid perceptions of weakness in Keisuke, vows to shield him at all costs. Keisuke ponders whether Iwao aspires to lead, but Iwao is content with his designated role, urging Keisuke to focus on leadership while he handles the unsavory tasks.
Meanwhile, Ai is out grocery shopping when she spots two playful brothers. Her smile fades upon encountering a Goto, sending her rushing home to warn Kyosuke. Sensing impending doom, they realize escape is futile as the Goto, wielding an axe, bursts in and attacks without mercy.
Old Kamiyama finds himself miraculously alive as Munechika rouses him from slumber, recounting tales of the fierce gunfight. In response, Kamiyama merely chuckles, mocking the cyclical futility of the Kuge village's perpetual struggles. A nostalgic flashback captures a youthful Gin, his face illuminated by a warm, inviting smile.
As Gannibal Season 2 Episode 3 draws to a close, Yosuke is deeply wounded by Daigo's treacherous actions. With a gun trained steadily on him, the policeman escorts Yosuke into the dimly lit tunnel. Inside, Iwao, Makoto, and Keisuke await alongside Yuki and Mashiro, tensions thick in the air. In a moment of clarity, Keisuke and Daigo come to an impromptu agreement to put an end to their long-standing grudge, there and then.
