The sixth episode of Gannibal Season 2 unfolds in the harsh winter of 1952, where desperation has driven villagers to sell their daughters merely for sustenance. As two villagers venture into the woods to forage for food, they stumble upon a chilling sight: little Shirogane, with a human finger clenched between his tiny teeth. Suddenly, Gin emerges from the shadows, her fierce presence prompting one of the foragers to flee in terror, screaming for help.
The Kamiyamas, with limited resources to spare, take pity on the starving villagers. Shige, one of the foragers, arrives breathless and frantic, recounting the tale of Gin's terrifying appearance. Young Masamune finds amusement in the chaos, whereas the superstitious villagers convince themselves they've been cursed by the very spirit of Gin. In a knee-jerk reaction, they decide to put an end to her once and for all. Meanwhile, Gin, in a moment of grim necessity, confides in Shirogane that cannibalism might be their only chance for survival.
Tragedy strikes as a young infant succumbs to starvation, leaving the villagers in a state of disarray. Blame is cast hastily, shifting from Gin to Masamune and ultimately landing on the Gotos. Elsewhere, Kinji enjoys a lavish feast in Yoshimune's presence, as a priest pleads that aiding the villagers will endear them to the Gotos. However, Kinji harbors no desire for peace. He unburdens a dark secret: the origins of the Kashihabe, a cannibal tribe born during an Edo famine when starvation compelled them to consume the children destined for Kurunokami's altar. Fearful, Kuge banished the Kashihabe, isolating their only allies, the Gotos, who were ostracized in solidarity. Kinji alleges that the village ignited the war against them and was responsible for Gin's plight.
Infuriated, Yoshimune reprimands Kinji, urging him to cease his relentless pursuit of Gin. Unbeknownst to Yoshimune, Kinji's motives are intertwined with love for Gin. In solitude, Kinji vents his frustration at his family's lax efforts in searching for her.
Simultaneously, Masamune persists in his quest for Gin. He finds solace at the shrine, only to be delighted by Gin's sudden appearance, accompanied by Shirogane. She humbly asks for a favor, painting a poignant picture of resilience and hope amidst the desolate winter landscape.
The villagers, fueled by desperation, prepare to pillage the Gotos' provisions. Yoshimune, attempting to soothe tempers with patience, finds his words falling on deaf ears as Masamune inflames the crowd with fiery rhetoric. Yoshimune finds himself the target of accusations, labeled a coward by all. Adding insult to injury, Masamune seizes pregnant Goto Beni as a pawn in his power game, garnering the villagers' unqualified support. Yoshimune's plight seems hopeless as the mob, swayed by Masamune's sway, marches towards the Goto estate.
A haunting flashback unveils Gin's cunning scheme: Masamune will depose his father and rally the Kuge clan against the Gotos, paving the way for Gin to assume the family throne. Masamune, though apprehensive, is manipulated by Gin, who exploits his affection for her.
Kinji, determined to resist, realizes their numerical inferiority is insurmountable. In a desperate bid to sway the villagers, he waves a banner of truce, offering them the meager supplies he has. The villagers, swayed by this gesture, switch allegiance instantaneously, much to Masamune's dismay. Meanwhile, concealed within Goto territory, Gin commits a covert act of violence, slaying one of the villagers. Enraged, the villagers retaliate by brutalizing Beni, marking the ignition of a full-scale conflict.
Kinji, valiantly defending his land, suffers grievous wounds as most of the Goto men fall. Suddenly, the Kashihabes descend upon the scene, slaughtering numerous male villagers with ruthless efficiency. Their leader declares the fallen will serve as sustenance, while the Goto women face the grim fate of impregnation. The narrative jumps to a haunting photograph of 21st-century Gotos, the offspring of Kashihabe fathers and raped Goto mothers.
Another flashback takes us to the Kashihabes' grim preparations to slay and consume Gin, bound and helpless. She proposes a barter: her body in exchange for vengeance against her tormentors. Kinji, albeit impressed by Gin's cunning, refuses to cede her the family home. Her screams precede a stab aimed at him, but in that crucial moment, his thoughts turn to Shirogane, wondering if the child could be his flesh and blood. Gin, amusement lacing her voice, suggests that Kinji, Masamune, or even the Kashihabe leader could be Shirogane's father.
Acknowledging defeat, Kinji confesses his love for Gin. Yet, to her eyes, he is but another piece of meat, and she begins to dismember him with ruthlessness.
Masamune guides Kashihabe and herself back to the village, where they proclaim themselves as the village's new leaders. The villagers, under the condition that they surrender one child annually to Shirogane, will be granted sustenance. Yoshimune sneers at the proposition, yet the villagers eerily acquiesce. Shirogane, caught in a fit of laughing sickness, collapses unexpectedly, leaving Masamune with a look of concern etched on her face. Gin, however, remains confident in Shirogane's survival and believes he will rise to become the Arahito. The scene shifts to Shirogane, now known as "That Man," wreaking havoc with unchecked fury.
Later, in the present, Masamune, now aged, concludes her tale by unveiling that she and Gin had secretly nurtured Shirogane within the confines of the shrine. Daigo finds the entire narrative absurd and sets off towards the shrine to rescue Mashiro, while Keisuke stands momentarily undecided before deciding to follow him. Keisuke blames his own innocence for the chaos that has unfolded and vows to put an end to "That Man." A tentative truce forms between them, as Daigo warns that he will not hesitate to eliminate Keisuke if he interferes with Mashiro's rescue.
Meanwhile, the SAT team's mission is to apprehend Keisuke, Iwao, and "That Man." Their first target is the shrine, and they are authorized to use lethal force if they encounter resistance.
In the closing scenes of Gannibal Season 2 Episode 6, Yosuke encounters Kuroe, who beams with delight at the shared traitorous bond they hold. She eagerly implores him for a ride, but the escape route, the Kuge bridge, is blocked by welcoming signs strewn across it. Yosuke disembarks to clear the path, leaving Kuroe visibly agitated. Suddenly, Sadamu emerges, assaulting Yosuke and demanding the whereabouts of Keisuke.
