In the seventh episode of Gen V, we find Anabeth awaking to a harrowing vision of Marie lying motionless in a pool of her own blood. Her dreams disrupted, she rouses Jordan, only to learn that Marie is nowhere to be found at Stan's safe haven. Sam's voice then brings the revelation that Cate is also missing, stirring up Jordan's frustration with Marie's habit of leaving them behind. In a fit of emotion, Jordan asks to borrow Stan's car, fueled by his desire for action.

Meanwhile, Marie and Cate arrive at Cipher's abode, where Cate desperately attempts to persuade Marie to heal her. Through a series of heated exchanges, Marie confesses her reluctance to trust Cate enough to use her powers. Cate promises to never wield her abilities against her friends again, but Marie remains hesitant, choosing to proceed inside the residence rather than heed Cate's plea.
Their journey within reveals an empty hyperbaric chamber and a dismal state of Polarity, who has been left unattended. Meanwhile, Cipher conceals Godolkin within a hidden chamber in God U's training room, still grappling with the shock of Polarity's attack. In a moment of loss of control, he lashes out at Godolkin's form with a belt, pondering the decision to end his existence. Cipher's excitement mounts as he spots Marie via his CCTV cameras.
Marie shares with Polarity the news of Godolkin's survival and relays her conversation with Stan regarding Godolkin's potential role in stopping Homelander. The conversation is interrupted by another seizure from Polarity, which Marie uses her powers to alleviate, fully healing him in the process. Polarity is stunned by the disappearance of his tremors, thanking Marie for restoring his health.
Sam arrives at God U with Emma tucked away in his pocket, and Emma introduces herself to Greg, requesting his assistance in finding Marie. As Emma embarks on her search, she entrusts Sam with the same task. Meanwhile, Marie, Polarity, and Cate converge at God U in their quest to locate Cipher. Polarity urges Marie to heal Cate, believing it would expedite their search. Marie, however, remains upset and refuses, convinced that Cate is responsible for Andre's demise.
Polarity then takes the blame for Andre's death himself, but Marie insists that she cannot fathom trusting Cate with her powers anymore. The tension between them reflects the complex web of trust and betrayal that weaves through this twisted world.
Cipher dialed Marie's number from his office and escorted her to the training room, where he was hiding with Godolkin. Just as they arrived, Jordan appeared at God U with Anabeth, both having had the same vision of Marie lying in a pool of blood. Their hearts racing, they sprinted towards the training room. Sam confided in Emma that he was experiencing a new sensation of jealousy towards her and Greg's relationship. Emma offered empathy, but Greg's sudden arrival interrupted their conversation.
Together, they rushed to the training room, where they found Marie. Marie realized that Godolkin's heartbeat was weakening and that he was on the brink of death. Anabeth shared her vision with Marie, depicting their parents' similar demise. Marie unleashed her powers on all her friends and Anabeth, refusing to back down and imploring Cate to do the same. Cate, however, declined.
Polarity intervened, stopping Marie and distracting Cipher long enough for her to enter the concealed room. He asked Jordan, Cate, Emma, Sam, Greg, and Anabeth to take down Cipher, as Cipher couldn't control Polarity but could manipulate the others into attacking him.
Inside the room, Marie asked Godolkin for his help, and he nodded, prompting Marie to use her powers to heal him. Godolkin awoke feeling like his old self while Cipher passed out. Emma and Cate rushed in to assist Marie as Godolkin regained consciousness and revealed his true intentions.
Outside, Cipher revealed that he was nothing more than a puppet of Godolkin's, claiming his real name was Doug and that Godolkin had controlled him, making him do everything as Cipher. Cate informed Emma that Godolkin was Cipher as they hurriedly escorted Marie out. The episode ended with Godolkin wandering through God U, causing the weaker supes to kill themselves one by one.
