In the opening of Episode 2 of "Girl Taken," a time jump of one year reveals that Lily's captor, Rick, continues his charade of visiting the cabin to write his book. His wife, Zoe, is suspicious but accepts his excuses. This time, he brings Lily a gift—a bassinet, as she is now pregnant. Throughout this time, Rick has conditioned her to act as if she misses him and be grateful for everything he does, calling her "Baby doll." He expects her to maintain this character when he is at the cabin.

Meanwhile, Abby's life has taken a downturn. She has long given up on attending university and spends most of her time with Archie and his friends. Eve, desperate to get Lily back, wants to launch another public appeal for her daughter's return. However, her new lover and the cop handling the case, Tommy, believes they need new evidence to get the public more invested. He promises to get Lily back.
The only one who seems to be getting his life together is Wes. He is now working and distancing himself from Archie's crew. He tries to talk some sense into Abby, but she's angry at the world, herself, and him.
On the girls' birthday, Eve runs into Rick and opens up to him. He pretends to be sympathetic and agrees to talk to Abby about reconsidering her plans for the future. In the end, he gives Eve his phone number and asks her to call whenever she needs someone to vent to.
After his talk with Eve, Rick makes his way to the cabin. This time, he brings lilies and a doll for Lily. He fails to notice his wife following him, hoping to catch him cheating. In the cabin's basement, Lily is busy sprucing up the place as per Rick's expectations. The self-harming scars on her hands set Rick off. She tries to convince him to let her come upstairs, but he becomes violent. He accuses her of trying to ruin everything he has worked so hard to give her. The audacity of his delusions is deafening!
Simultaneously, Zoe arrives at the cabin and catches a glimpse of Rick's new novel's title, "Babydoll." However, she doesn't see him. Before leaving, she calls him, and he lies that he's on a run to get his creative juices flowing. He asks for time to focus on his novel and guilt-trips her into believing she's wrong for being suspicious. Lily tries to shout for help, but Rick covers her mouth with his hand.
Later, Zoe confides in Rick that she feels lonely. This is when we learn that they've been trying to have a baby and had a miscarriage. As expected, Rick places all the blame squarely on Zoe's shoulders. He also gets defensive when she mentions 'babydoll' and accuses her of snooping. By the end of their conversation, Zoe is crying and apologizing, believing she's the one to blame.
In the meantime, Abby goes out drinking with Archie and his friends. He tries to make a move on her, and she pulls away. He jokes about Lily probably being dead. The joke pushes Abby over the edge, and she sets fire to his car. Thankfully, Wes arrives to save her from Archie's wrath, and they flee the scene together. He brings her to the forest and confronts her for ignoring his pain. After they both calm down, Wes walks her back home. He then suggests doing something to honor Lily's birthday. Of course, Eve is displeased to see Abby hanging out with Wes.
At the secluded cabin, Lily's labor commences, and she ingeniously tricks Rick into examining her dilation, using the opportunity to strangle him with the chain around her leg. As he lies unconscious, she seizes the keys to the lock on her foot and attempts to flee. However, Rick revives and drags her down the stairs. Later, he assists her in delivering the baby. Unfortunately, Lily collapses from the agony and exhaustion, and Rick seizes the infant. He incinerates the bloodstained bedding and lies to her, claiming the child perished. Lily is engulfed by grief, and he consoles her.
At the abandoned factory, Wes and Abby gather to honor Lily in the last place they saw her alive. They eventually reconcile their shared guilt over what transpired. Abby insists that she senses Lily's survival and refuses to abandon the search. In the evening, Eve apologizes to Abby and presents her with a birthday gift. They reconcile their differences, and Eve urges Abby to reclaim her life. Before retiring for the night, Eve leaves a gift for Lily in her closet as well. Following her mother's advice, Abby reaches out to Wes again.
Meanwhile, Rick returns home to Zoe and apologizes for his actions. Back at the cabin, a devastated Lily wreaks havoc in the basement and attempts suicide by slashing her arm. Rick returns to find her unconscious on the floor. He saves her life but warns her that he'll kidnap Abby if she attempts it again.
As time passes, Abby and Eve persist in their search for Lily. At the cabin, Lily remains resilient, determined to prevent Abby from suffering a similar fate. A year passes, and the scene shifts to Lily performing mundane tasks in the basement. Gradually, Rick removes the lock from her leg.
Five years after Lily's disappearance, her family remains in search of answers. Abby keeps her relationship with Wes hidden from her mother. Rick continues teaching and begins paying particular attention to a student named Caroline, making comments about Lily's age to her.
One fateful day, Rick inadvertently leaves the basement door slightly ajar on his way out. Lily notices and decides to investigate.
