Episode 1 of Season 1 of "Go!" kicks off with Siya fleeing from the chaotic aftermath of an accident, where it appears that a life has been lost. As Siya narrates, the situation escalates dramatically! The narrative then flashes back to a few days prior to the accident, capturing Siya and his friends immersed in the laughter of campus life. Everyone rallyes around Siya, wishing him the best of luck in his impending race against four other contenders.
The race begins, and Siya bolts out of the starting line as if chased by phantom demons. It's no surprise when he crosses the finish line victorious, eliciting a thunderous cheer from the spectators. Post-race, Siya's brother rewards him with a portion of their earnings.
However, Siya's triumph is short-lived as he's confronted by the four runners later. Despite his attempts to escape, they eventually catch up to him, beating him senseless before robbing him. Siya returns home, a bruised and battered version of his former self, and confides in his friends. Mandla is outraged, while Nthabi tends to Siya's wounds with compassion.
Later, Siya's mother extends an invitation to dinner for the trio of friends. During the meal, Mandla can barely contain his excitement, regaling everyone with tales of Siya's victory. Siya's mother beams with pride. As dinner concludes, a man who was among the race spectators enters. He introduces himself as a coach from an elite private school and extends a full scholarship to Siya to join his esteemed running team.
Siya eagerly accepts the offer, and everyone rejoices, with Mandla being particularly ecstatic. Siya's brother, Shuffle, even buys him new running shoes, cautioning him not to forget his humble beginnings.
That night, Mandla bursts into Siya's room, insistent that they celebrate one last hurrah. Siya, Mandla, and Nthabi venture out for drinks and camaraderie. Mandla indulges heavily in liquor, prompting Nthabi to ask Siya to drive Mandla home. She decides to stay back and socialize with her friends.
Given Mandla's intoxication, Siya offers to take the wheel. But tragedy strikes; Siya accidentally hits and kills a pedestrian. Panicked, he calls his brother Shuffle for guidance. Shuffle instructs Siya to place Mandla in the driver's seat, a suggestion Siya doesn't resist much, believing Mandla to be unconscious. After making the switch, Shuffle urges Siya to flee the scene. Once again, Siya dashes away, driven by an invisible force of dread and guilt.
