The episode kicks off with Colonel Patrick Quinn (Denis Leary) and his Executive Officer, Major Abraham Shah (Danny Pudi), receiving the surprising news of a visit from Special Agent Rick Silver (Parker Young) at their base. Their jaws nearly drop when Captain Maggie Quinn (Taylor Misiak) dashes over and leaps into Silver's embrace. Soon thereafter, Quinn steps outside to introduce himself and probe into Silver's true intentions at the base, struggling to fathom that his presence could solely be concerned with Maggie. Their conversation barely progresses before it's abruptly halted by Sergeant Dana Conway (Laci Mosley).
In the laundry room, Quinn's mood darkens upon discovering that the base has been tasked with handling the laundry for the upcoming NATO Conference in Belgium, which commences in just 48 hours. Conway further requests leave for herself and Private Anthony 'BA' Chapman (Dempsey Bryk) to personally transport the laundry to the conference.
Elsewhere, in the Stroopsdorf Barracks, Maggie and Silver share some intimate moments until a knock on the adjacent wall alerts Maggie to Quinn's search for her. Quinn orders Corporal Elias Papadakis (Hal Cumpston) to conduct a bug sweep just as Maggie enters his office. She's perplexed by Quinn's suspicion that Silver is a spy, but that concern quickly fades when Quinn rescinds her 48-hour leave. Maggie handles this revelation with less than grace.
Later, Maggie vents to Conway about her issues with Quinn when BA interrupts with the news that the tuxedo has arrived. Despite its irrelevance for laundry delivery, Conway reveals to Maggie her plan to use BA to sneak into the NATO Ball. This conversation is once again cut short by BA, who gripes about the tuxedo being uncomfortably tight in certain areas. Before BA and Conway depart to have the tuxedo altered, Conway informs Maggie that she'll send the laundry staff home early to facilitate Silver's visit.
While Silver and Maggie converse in the laundry room, Quinn and Shah break into Silver's room in search of incriminating evidence that could dismantle their relationship. While rummaging through Silver's belongings, Quinn and Shah overhear Conway and BA conversing with the Dutch Tailor (Robert Holik) through the thin walls. Upon accusing Conway of espionage, she reveals the NATO Ball plan to Quinn, prompting him to revoke her and BA's security clearances, confining them to the base. Returning to their search, Quinn uncovers an exorbitantly priced bottle of scotch, while Shah discovers the bugged engagement ring that Silver had previously shown to Maggie.
In the dimly lit laundry room, Silver approaches Maggie with a mischievous glint in his eye, propositioning her to assist in eavesdropping on the NATO Conference. He suggests they plant bugs, akin to the one cleverly concealed in his ring, within the pillowcases destined for the high-stakes event. Maggie's eyes widen in astonishment, almost disbelieving his audacity.
The following day, Maggie attempts to convey to Quinn that he had been right about something, but he forestalls her, affirming that she was indeed correct. He reveals he had searched Silver's quarters and discovered the incriminating ring. Maggie, however, decides to keep her newfound knowledge to herself, tucking it away like a hidden treasure.
Later, Maggie meets with Conway to procure a package promising to extricate her from her predicament. Conway, ever the problem-solver, has also addressed her issue with BA by securing him a kilt, a gesture as quirky as it is thoughtful. Silver returns to his quarters to find Maggie awaiting him, the air thick with unspoken tension. Their conversation barely gains traction before Quinn bursts in, almost spoiling the moment by mentioning the engagement. But Maggie swiftly diverts their attention with an expensive bottle of scotch, her mind already plotting.
Quinn, unable to contain his eagerness, downs his glass without waiting for a toast, and within moments, slumps into unconsciousness. Once Quinn is out, Maggie confesses to doctoring the scotch, a confession that only deepens Silver's fascination with her. Enraptured, he spills the entirety of his scheme to bug the NATO Conference when prompted by Maggie's curiosity. Unbeknownst to them, Papadakis has captured every word through the paper-thin walls, the conversation recorded for posterity.
Maggie seizes the tape, using it as leverage to coerce Papadakis into consuming the tainted scotch himself. As time passes, Maggie informs Quinn of her breakup with Silver, who is being escorted off the base by Shah. She portrays Silver as a wonderful person but admits she couldn't envision a future intertwined with his world. Quinn nods in agreement, labeling him a narcissist, a claim backed by an online test Quinn had cunningly taken in Silver's guise. It is then that Maggie realizes with a shock that she had been romancing a mirror image of her father.
Their conversation stalls abruptly as Conway interrupts, bringing the scotch Quinn had requested. The episode concludes on a tentative note, with Quinn granting Maggie and BA permission to attend the ball, leaving the door ajar for future adventures.
