Good Boy – K-drama Episode 10 1

Rushed to the hospital with urgent haste, Jong-hyeon is whisked away, leaving his team stranded in the all-too-familiar waiting room, fingers intertwined and hearts pounding in collective hope and prayer. As Jong-hyeon is transferred to the intensive care unit, a glimmer of hope emerges that he may yet survive this ordeal. However, Dong-ju, battling his own silent demons, grapples with neurological issues that he has yet to confide in his comrades.

Miraculously, Jong-hyeon regains consciousness, albeit with a lengthy recovery ahead. Dong-ju, during this tender moment, realizes the precise instant Jong-hyeon injured his ankle, fearing that his friend's condition has worsened undetected.

Elsewhere, Ju-young's call to the Mayor of Insung goes unanswered, sparking a blaze of frustration within him. Determined to assert his will, he crashes a high-profile dinner event, casting a dark shadow over the festive atmosphere. With the prowess of a master manipulator, Ju-young coerces the Mayor into compliance, forcing him to deploy the Customs department to the docks while stuffing his mouth with bills as a grim reminder of who's in charge.

Man-sik, too, finds himself on shaky ground, consumed by regret for assembling the team and blaming himself for succumbing to greed. Their team's fortunes take a further nosedive as they come under investigation, leading to the disbandment of their department.

Three months leap forward in time, bringing with it news of Jong-hyeon's discharge from the hospital. He learns, to his surprise, that his former colleagues have been scattered to the winds—initially suspended, they now toil in disparate fields. Jae-hong has returned to the traffic police beat, while Man-sik finds himself mired in the mundane world of domestic dispute mediation.

Han-na finds herself trapped in a dreary gig at the records room, while Dong-ju toils away on cleaning duty. However, his current living arrangement with Man-sik provides some clarity into his situation. Man-sik, moved by Dong-ju's lack of a supportive family background, has been a pillar of strength for him. Recalling Dong-ju's turbulent school days marked by frequent fights, it was Man-sik who steered him towards boxing, suggesting it as an outlet for his rage. Through thick and thin, Man-sik has remained by Dong-ju's side, offering guidance and support whenever he stumbled.

Han-na visits Jong-hyeon in the hospital, revisiting their shared history. Jong-hyeon concedes that he perhaps should have disclosed the severity of his ankle injury earlier, but ponders whether it would have altered the trajectory of their relationship. Nevertheless, his affection for Han-na remains palpable, and he makes no secret of his desire for her.

Elsewhere, Yeon-ha ventures to see Ju-young, but finds herself at a disadvantage. Ju-young, aware of Yeon-ha's sister's plight, holds all the cards, promising a reunion only after he completes his latest batch of "Candy."

An excruciatingly awkward encounter unfolds when Ju-young decides to pay Dong-ju a visit and suggests they share a meal. What starts as a light-hearted gesture quickly descends into an excruciatingly tense dinner. Ju-young urges Dong-ju to abandon his combative ways, warning that he risks becoming a perpetual punching bag. Yet, Dong-ju is unyielding, determined to fight back every step of the way, refusing to go down without a battle.

Concerning Han-na, her relentless pursuit of the Black Cat connections that Leo had casually mentioned persists. Delving deeper, she uncovers that the infamous Black Cat Mob operated in the Russian Far East in tandem with Oh Dollar, a notorious smuggler whose alias was as distinctive as it was memorable. Although Oh Dollar met his demise some fifteen years prior, whispers suggest that his end might have been orchestrated by a ruthless Russian mobster.

In the dimly lit confines of the records room, Han-na pores over the Oh Dollar case file, officially labeled "Smuggle Oh Bong-chan." Her eyes scan the details, settling on the presumed cause of death: a fatal gunshot wound to the head. This revelation adds another layer of intrigue to her investigation.

Meanwhile, Dong-ju embarks on a mission to dismantle Ju-young's criminal empire, using the watches as his guide to pinpoint Ju-young's lieutenants. With each strike, he methodically targets and shuts down Ju-young's illicit ventures, leaving a trail of suspended operations in his wake.

The rest of the team catches wind of Dong-ju's resurgent campaign through news reports. They marvel at his resilience; though beaten, he is far from broken. As Dong-ju gears up for his next assault, a sense of anticipation ripples through the team. He moves stealthily towards his next destination, ready to strike with the precision of a predator.
