Good Boy – K-drama Episode 9 1

In the present day, this unyielding determination shines through as our team confronts formidable adversaries. Ju-young, at the helm of a sizable force, rallies his men with relentless energy, resulting in Jae-hong being swiftly felled. Dong-ju springs into action, rushing to the rescue of his comrades, while Han-na, wielding a shotgun with adept precision, momentarily wards off the assailants. Dong-ju arrives just in time to save Jong-hyeon from Baek's ferocious knife swings, but their valor alone proves insufficient.

Ju-young and his minions seize the moment, turning the tide of battle in their favor and making off with the drugs, the tracker brutally ripped from the van. Jae-hong, gravely injured with a sore back, is rushed to the hospital, while Han-na, seemingly captured, is in fact clinging tenaciously to the top of the escaping truck, her resolve unwavering.

With the team depleted, the burden falls on Joon-hyeon and Dong-ju to track down Han-na before it's too late. Han-na, cleverly leaving a trail of her shoes and clothing at intersections, serves as their beacon. The duo races against time, following her signals until they finally pinpoint the truck.

However, the reality of the situation dawns upon them swiftly—the package has been cleverly divided among multiple trucks, obscuring their trail. A glove, left behind as a crucial clue, reveals Han-na's ingenuity; she marked the license plate—4131, a lifeline in their desperate pursuit.

Armed with this pivotal intelligence, the team makes a beeline back to the precinct, determined to utilize the CCTV recordings to pinpoint the truck's whereabouts. However, mindful of a possible traitor lurking within their own ranks, Man-sik steers them toward Insung Pawnshop instead. With Geum-nam's astute assistance, they manage to corner Gwang-se, their bald eagle informant, who harbors illicit substances concealed inside his teddy bear. Before spilling the beans, he exacts a solemn pinky promise from them to safeguard his safety, revealing that Ju-young and his cronies are entangled with some Japanese associates.

Initially skeptical, the Golden Bunny, who once orchestrated all dealings with the Yakuza, finds himself cornered by Jong-hyeon and Dong-ju's probing questions. The metal teeth he drops as evidence speak volumes; Ju-young has been paying visits to his sibling, the Silver Bunny, employing force to secure his silence. Dong-ju, increasingly adopting a more officer-like demeanor despite his neurological demons that continually flare up throughout the episode, insists that their top priority should be locating Han-na before stirring up any major trouble.

Ju-young is undeniably entangled with the Japanese Yakuza, as evidenced by his negotiations with a Japanese businessman. He proposes sending the contraband in installments, striving to bridge the gap of mistrust. To underscore his sincerity, Ju-young brutally eliminates the businessman's interpreter, forcing the deal through by sheer force of will. Unbeknownst to the rest of the gang, Han-na is clandestinely stowed away among the shipments being smuggled aboard ships. During her clandestine observation, she overhears Leo referring to Yeon-ha as his "black cat," immediately recognizing the identities of these ruthless gangsters.

Han-na persists in her investigation, only to be ensnared in a perilous situation while eavesdropping on Yeon-ha and Leo. Out of nowhere, Ju-young ambushes her, utilizing Baek to render her unconscious. A thorough search yields no incriminating evidence on Han-na, as she had already jettisoned everything off the truck for Dong-ju and Jong-hyeon's protection. Rather than terminating her, they confine her within a container, amidst decaying corpses, vowing to abandon her in the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean.

Prior to her grim fate being sealed, Han-na secures a heartfelt conversation with Leo, revealing the harrowing truth about her father, Ji Ho-cheol's murderer—Leo himself. Despite her dire circumstances, Han-na manages to clandestinely procure a phone from one of her captors and makes a desperate plea to emergency services, despite the erratic signal hampering her efforts.

Mercifully, our group manages to decipher her fragmented message and dashes to Geumpo Shipyard, where a Russian vessel named the Victory awaits. They devise a daring plan to locate Han-na, using Gwang-se as a decoy to sneak aboard and outmaneuver the guards. Dong-ju, aided by Jong-hyeon's brave distraction, manages to pinpoint Han-na's location within the container.

However, their escape is complicated when Baek brutally stabs Jong-hyeon, impeding their progress. Dong-ju veers off course, leading the others deeper into the ship. Confronted by an overwhelming number of adversaries, Dong-ju makes a heroic sacrifice, stirring chaos to buy time for Jong-hyeon to escort Han-na to safety.

Their reprieve is short-lived as Leo, accompanied by his men, appears and shoots Jong-hyeon in the shoulder. With clear intent to target Han-na, Leo's bullet instead strikes Jong-hyeon, who shields her. As Jong-hyeon collapses and plunges into the water, Han-na sinks to her knees, stunned and horrified by the unfolding tragedy.
