Good Boy – K-drama Episode 8 1

Han-na's day promises excitement as it marks the community engagement event with the police at the Insung Metropolitan Police Agency. The entire team is present, pulling out all the stops to entertain the children with vigor and enthusiasm. Despite the commissioner's lingering anger, a glimmer of improvement shines through thanks to Dong-ju's soothing massage, albeit resulting in a 30-day suspension for the commissioner. In the meantime, the team decides to adopt a cautious, methodical approach, shying away from confrontation with the big players just yet.

Their initial focus shifts to the drugs and the supply chain of materials confiscated from Bbong-pil. However, the patience of Yeon-ha and the others begins to wear thin when dealing with Ju-young. With the ships set to sail in a week, they desperately need their equipment on the streets, but a transport delay stands in their way.

Ju-young's arrogance is palpable as he revels in seeing Dong-ju and the team squirm. However, his cockiness might just be his undoing. As he heads to Insung Port to oversee the ephedrine, the team hot on his trail, they uncover another critical clue: Man-sik's incessant itching reveals he's been bitten by red fire ants, the same ants that plagued the port last year. The tension mounts, as the pieces of the puzzle start to fit together.

The ants infiltrated, hitching a ride on cargo that traversed Russia, the very same pathway that had facilitated the smuggled entry of ephedrine. Recognizing the grave peril, authorities swiftly summoned an extermination squad to carry out a meticulous quarantine inspection. Dressed in their distinctive quarantine attire, the team arrived, but they were accompanied by an unexpected guest: Yeon-ha. Without delay, the group secured her with handcuffs. She attempted to incite Jong-hyeon into a frenzy and even began convulsing on the ground. In a daring maneuver, Yeon-ha managed to slip away, leaving the team to uncover the stash of ephedrine in her absence. Tragically, Jong-hyeon suffered bites, and his allergic reaction left him desperate and pleading, begging them not to administer the injection he feared due to his needle phobia. In a moment both humorous and harrowing, Dong-ju knocked him unconscious and proceeded with the injection regardless.

Triumphantly returning to headquarters with the confiscated drugs, the team was rewarded with a celebratory feast, though Dong-ju's evening ended sans after-party. Jong-hyeon kindly offered Dong-ju refuge in his spare room, cluttered with towering stacks of boxes. As Dong-ju rummaged through these boxes, he stumbled upon old newspaper articles chronicling Jong-hyeon's once-promising career and its abrupt end due to a devastating fencing accident where a foil pierced through his face, injuring his eye—the very same side Dong-ju had punched him.

Ju-young was livid upon learning of these developments, and the team looked to him for guidance on their next steps. He resolved to retrieve the drugs, planning an interception en route to the fortified facility.

Elsewhere, a startling revelation unfolded: Lee Gwang-se was very much alive. The hair transplant surgeon had narrowly escaped death, the bullet missing him by mere inches. Leo had received a call from his mother at the critical moment, vowing not to defy her wishes.

Ju-young, despite his perceived lack of righteousness, orders Gwang-se to candidly relay the meeting's discussions to the team. Obedient to his command, Gwang-se does just that, convincing the team that a mole within their agency is aiding Min. They are now determined to uncover this traitor's identity.

However, Ju-young's manipulations run deeper than anyone realizes. The Commissioner, acting on his orders, redirects the riot police to quell a protest at City Hall, leaving the transport woefully undefended. With only a meager security detail, the convoy ventures through the Jungdong Tunnel, unknowingly walking into an ambush.

The group is suddenly assailed, each member struggling to survive the relentless onslaught. Jae-hong's vehicle is turned upside down in the chaos, while his compatriots grapple with their own life-or-death struggles. Dong-ju emerges victorious against a swarm of motorcycle-riding assailants, but the fates of the others remain uncertain, leaving the narrative suspended in a harrowing cliffhanger.
