Griselda – Season 1 Episode 2

Published: May 28 2024

The second episode of Griselda opens with a tense scene as Dario breaks into Griselda's house in a desperate search for clues to her mysterious disappearance. His eyes scan the familiar surroundings, but they reveal nothing about her whereabouts. Just when he's about to give up, his boss calls with a chilling revelation.

"I think Griselda killed Alberto," he says, his voice cold and calculating. "He asked her to sleep with him, and she has too much pride for that. Especially now, after her past as a prostitute."

Dario is sent to Emilio, Griselda's former boss, to dig deeper into the mystery. This time, his efforts are rewarded. One of the ladies who harbors a deep hatred for Griselda snitches on her, providing crucial information.

Meanwhile, in Miami, Arturo arrives with a group of girls, and Griselda greets them with warmth and open arms. It turns out that these girls once worked at Emilio's bar alongside Griselda's friend, Isa. Isa had convinced them to come to Miami and smuggle drugs hidden in their bras.

As soon as they arrive, Griselda whisks them away to a motel. There, the girls nervously remove the drugs from their bras, and Griselda and Arturo carefully weigh them. They've brought ten kilos, and the pair believes they can fetch a hefty $250,000 for their haul.

Their excitement is tempered by anxiety as they wait for the exchange to take place. They're all too aware that Fernando could be lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce. Arturo is certain that Dario won't be far behind either.

Carmen also makes an appearance, asking Griselda to stop using her travel agency to purchase tickets for her girls. She wants no part in the dangerous drug business, even if it means going bankrupt.

The tension mounts as the episode reaches its climax, leaving the audience eagerly anticipating what will happen next in this thrilling tale of crime and intrigue.

Elsewhere, the police were scrambling to investigate the grisly murder that took place within the dimly lit confines of the bar. Among the witnesses, Rosa stood out, relaying to June her account of a mysterious woman who had been present at the crime scene. This woman, Rosa described, had walked with an air of authority, unlike a mere girlfriend, straight to the dealers.

However, Bill scoffed at the suggestion, dismissing it as mere folly. He insisted that it was preposterous to imagine that the mafia would ever grant a woman a seat of power at their table. Nevertheless, June, an astute analyst, refused to be swayed by their doubts. She pressed on with her investigation, determined to unearth the truth, even as her male colleagues mocked her efforts and her boss refused to entertain her theory. He urged her to focus on her assigned tasks - translating and drafting memos - but June was undeterred.

In retaliation, she penned a memo outlining her theory and strategically placed a copy on each desk, challenging her colleagues to dismiss her findings so easily.

As the night drew on, Arturo and Griselda met with Amilcar, expecting a routine exchange. But they were startled to see a new face among them - Papo, a formidable figure with a grudge against Griselda for attempting to steal his clients. It transpired that Papo was Amilcar's primary supplier, and he was enraged that Griselda had dared to undercut him with a cheaper, yet supposedly superior, product.

Without hesitation, Amilcar sided with Papo and refused to buy from Griselda, leaving her in a precarious situation. She was furious, cursing both Amilcar and Papo with venomous words. Amilcar, angered by her defiance, vowed to ensure that no one would dare to buy Griselda's cocaine.

This presented a dire predicament for Griselda, who was now strapped for cash and without a willing buyer for her stash. The girls, already jittery and impatient, were beginning to panic. Isa, seeing the situation spiraling out of control, suggested they go out for dinner to forget their troubles for a while.

Over the meal, Griselda's mind was churning with ideas. She noticed the wealthy patrons at the hotel, looking bored and seeking excitement. A spark of inspiration ignited within her, and she hatched a plan to sell the cocaine to these affluent individuals. Excited by the prospect, she shared her idea with Arturo and tasked him with making contact with a man named German Panesso.

Griselda was determined to sell the drugs independently, without Amilcar's assistance or stepping into his territory. She later shared her bold plan with the girls, and they eagerly rallied around her. They too were eager to escape their lives as prostitutes and saw this as a golden opportunity to start anew, far away from their pasts in Colombia.

The strategy was meticulously crafted: first, offer a tantalizing taste of the product through complimentary samples, and then establish a solid market for it. Papo kept a close eye on Griselda and urged Amilcar to deal with her, but the latter dismissed the idea. He couldn't fathom how a woman could pose any real threat. However, Papo had a different perspective and decided to handle the matter himself.

Meanwhile, German swaggered into Miami, all bravado. He made it clear that he didn't want his time wasted. Griselda calmly requested just one night to showcase her plan to him. She and her girls threw a lavish yacht party, catering to the rich and powerful. They introduced their new powder to potential clients, and everything seemed to be going smoothly until Papo and his men arrived, causing a commotion.

Papo opened fire and threatened to kill Griselda, but she dared him to do it in front of all the witnesses. Suddenly, German emerged, declaring that he was Griselda's new partner. Papo panicked and was soon chased away by the enraged crowd. They booed him loudly, and he fled in cowardice.

Griselda was relieved and thrilled that her plan had worked and that German was now on her side. The girls were equally ecstatic about the opportunity for a new life. Griselda treated them with kindness and compassion. Finally, she persuaded Carmen to join them and allowed her to use the travel agency. She was confident that it would be a mutually beneficial arrangement, and Carmen reluctantly agreed.

High on the euphoria of her success, Griselda returned to the hotel to find Fernando and Dario discussing with the boys. Fernando revealed to the boys that Griselda had killed Alberto, and he was seeking revenge for his brother's death. Griselda begged him not to kill her in front of them, but Fernando dragged her into the next room, intent on having his way with her before executing her.

The motel's thin walls allowed the boys to hear everything that transpired. Uber, horrified, tried to intervene and save Griselda. Fernando, enraged, ordered Dario to kill the boy. But to everyone's surprise, Dario turned the gun on Fernando and killed him instead.

After the initial shock, Griselda turned to Dario, pleading for his help to dispose of Fernando's body. She promised to discuss what role he could play in their future endeavors. Dario, now unemployed and unable to return to Colombia after killing his boss, found himself at a crossroads.
