Griselda – Season 1 Episode 3

Published: May 28 2024

Episode 3 of Griselda opens with a startling three-month leap, revealing Danny, one of Griselda's trusted lieutenants, battered and bruised after a vicious attack by a rival gang. Meanwhile, Griselda, her family, and the girls have settled into a lavish mansion, where life appears to be thriving and prosperous. However, beneath the surface, Ozzy remains deeply scarred, haunted by the horrors he witnessed at the motel. Despite Griselda's attempts to lift his spirits with toys, pets, and a change of scenery, he struggles to shake off the trauma.

Danny's arrival at the mansion, bruised and broken, marks a turning point. He begs Griselda to intervene, revealing that the rival boss responsible for the attack is Papo, a powerful figure who is furious with Griselda. As Amilcar's primary supplier, Papo fears that Griselda's foray into the business will drive him out of the market. In retaliation, he has been sabotaging Griselda's operations, leaving her and her men vulnerable to attacks, even from Amilcar's own henchmen.

Griselda, resolute, orders Dario to protect Danny until the dust settles. Meanwhile, Arturo brings news that Rafa from the Ochoa family has requested a meeting with Griselda and German. They deduce that Rafa is interested in buying them out of the Miami market, a prospect that initially seems unpalatable to Griselda. However, Arturo convinces her that this could be a golden opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labour without the constant danger and stress of the drug trade.

The news spreads like wildfire among the boys, who greet it with enthusiasm. They begin to dream of family vacations and a life of leisure, free from the constant threats and violence that have been their reality.

Griselda – Season 1 Episode 3 1

Elsewhere, the police stumble upon a new case when a witness against Amilcar is brutally murdered. One of the witnesses to the shooting slips up, inadvertently mentioning Amilcar's street nickname, drawing the attention of detective June. She alerts her partner, Bill, but he brushes off her concerns, focusing instead on his own investigation. He orders June to bring the witness to the station to identify the killer from a line-up of photos.

June's instincts are on high alert, and she senses that something isn't quite right. She suggests to Bill that they swipe the car for prints on the top left side of the driver's door, based on her belief that the killer is left-handed. But Bill ignores her advice, leaving her feeling frustrated and disillusioned. The experience pushes her to the brink, and she ultimately decides to quit the homicide unit, submitting her resignation and requesting a transfer to a desk job.

Returning to Griselda's story, we discover a secret affair brewing between her and Dario. Not only is she secretly sharing a bed with him, but she's also carving out a reputation both in her hometown and the glitzy Miami. People have begun to hail her as the "Godmother," a moniker that she eagerly embraces.

Days later, Griselda, German, and Dario embark on a journey to Norman's Cay in the Bahamas, their destination being a meeting with Rafa Salazar. As anticipated, Rafa puts on a bravado display, subtly flexing his vast cocaine empire to intimidate them before making his offer. Throughout this encounter, Griselda finds herself increasingly reliant on Dario, who keeps her abreast of Rafa's inner circle.

The offer itself is a bombshell. Rafa desires to buy them out, offering a sum of 15 million. He declares his intention to monopolize Miami, working solely with his own handpicked team. He wants to control the market, leaving no room for interference from the dealers currently operating in Miami. Griselda is offended by this proposition, and even though German suggests a cautious step back, she rejects Rafa's offer outright.

In retaliation, Rafa vows to take Miami at any cost, making it clear that there will be no further considerations for Griselda and German. As they fly back, German confronts Griselda, but she stands firm, vowing that she has a plan. She promises him a generous 25% cut and assures him that they will earn far more than the 15 million Rafa offered. Intrigued, German agrees to give her a chance and listens intently as she unfolds her scheme.

Her plan is bold and ambitious: to exclusively sell cocaine to the wealthy elite of Miami. The girls are eager to be part of it, and Griselda works her charm to convince Arturo, who fears that other dealers might succumb to Rafa's offer. With her determination and Dario's insider knowledge, they seem poised to take the Miami cocaine trade by storm.

The following day, Griselda valiantly attempted to rally the dealers and persuade them to seize control by rejecting Rafa's proposed deal. Nevertheless, Papo swayed their resolve, casting doubts on Griselda's trustworthiness and arguing that a woman should not be their leader. Griselda countered, insisting that they didn't require a leader as they were all equals, but she offered to serve as their spokesperson.

The dealers' anxiety mounted as Amilcar's absence from the meeting became apparent, sending only his trusted confidante, Rivi, in his stead. Without a clear directive from Amilcar, the dealers were hesitant to proceed. Griselda, determined to break the deadlock, approached Rivi and requested a meeting with Amilcar. Rivi acquiesced, agreeing to chauffeur her to his whereabouts.

Amilcar confessed to Griselda that he was mulling over Rafa's offer due to his current entanglements with the police. He revealed the existence of a witness, and Griselda, unwavering, volunteered to eliminate the threat. Confident in her ability to evade suspicion, she ordered Dario, after a passionate encounter, to accompany Chucho and dispatch the witness.

Dario's anger flared as he begrudgingly acquiesced to Griselda's request. He had hoped to abandon his life of violence, but Griselda refused to relent, insisting that they couldn't let their hard-earned gains slip away. However, when Dario and Chucho infiltrated the witness's home and discovered a toddler and wife within, their resolve wavered. Dario frantically called Griselda, begging her to reconsider, but she issued a cold command: eliminate them all, except the innocent child. Moments later, she received a chilling call from Dario, confirming that the witness had been dealt with.

The following morning, the police stumbled upon a ghastly sight, and June was summoned to lend a hand in caring for the abandoned infant while they awaited the arrival of child services. With the case against him finally resolved, Amilcar pledged to collude with Griseld in secret. He assured her that he would persuade the remaining dealers to reject Rafa's treacherous deal. Successfully swaying most of the other dealers to his side, they unanimously decided to host a rebellious celebration. However, on the fateful day of the mutiny, Amilcar was abruptly apprehended after a furious police shootout.

This unexpected turn of events was solely due to June's diligent efforts to ensure that all fingerprints were meticulously wiped away, fueled by a hunch that something wasn't quite right. As a parting gift, another detective, Diaz, invited her to witness the arrest. Later, Diaz persuaded June to join his upcoming task force, CENTAC, which was dedicated to combatting drug-related crimes.

Griselda was left reeling in shock when German betrayed her trust. German allied with Papo and convinced the others to embrace Rafa's deal, leaving Griselda devastated. She wept in Dario's arms, lamenting that she had killed the witness for nothing. Dario comforted her with a tender embrace, and they ended up sharing a intimate night together. The following morning, Griselda awoke refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to plot her revenge with a vengeance.
