In the sixth episode of Hazbin Hotel, Charlie, accompanied by a deeply hesitant Vaggie, sets off for their fateful meeting in the celestial realm. Meanwhile, Cherry Bomb, Angel's spirited companion, organizes an exhilarating night out for the rest of the hotel's inhabitants. Seraphim Sera and Emily warmly, yet contrastingly, greet them at the gates of heaven; Emily's enthusiasm stands in stark contrast to Sera's evident displeasure with their arrival. Sera confides in Adam, instructing him to do whatever necessary to maintain order and keep the clandestine exterminations under wraps.

This directive prompts Adam to confront Vaggie with a sinister ultimatum. He unearths her dark past as one of his top exorcists, before her betrayal led to Lute gouging out her eye. To keep her secret past hidden from Charlie, she must assist him in thwarting Charlie's plans for the hearing.

Charlie passionately argues before Sera during the meeting that redemption is possible for even the most sinful souls. When Charlie inquiries about the criteria for gaining entry into heaven, Adam succinctly lists: acting selflessly, refraining from theft, and rebelling against authority. The court, intrigued, decides to scrutinize Angel Dust's conduct to ascertain if he meets these standards. Unfortunately, at the precise moment they spy on him, Cherry Bomb has convinced him to indulge in a night of debauchery with her.

Adam turns to Vaggie for her opinion on the matter, but she abruptly flees, seeking refuge from the tumultuous situation. At Emily's earnest pleading, Sera reluctantly agrees to grant Angel one final opportunity before rendering her verdict.

This time around, Angel takes a proactive stance. He searches for Niffty, halts her thieving antics, and even confronts Valentino head-on at the club. As the night draws to a close, he extends an invitation to Cherry Bomb to stay at the hotel. Though Cherry is thrilled to see his progress, she politely declines, insisting she's doing just fine on her own.

Adam's only response to Angel's altruistic deeds is a question about his own absence. It transpires that no one in heaven truly understands the criteria for passing through the pearly gates. Sera attempts to silence Charlie's probing inquiries, asserting that the reason behind their ignorance is irrelevant; her sole responsibility is to safeguard the souls within their realm. Meanwhile, Adam, in a moment of foolish candor, reveals his desire to exterminate the souls in hell, much to everyone's shock.

Emily, who was previously unaware of Adam's intentions, is hurt by Sera's justification for such drastic measures. Charlie, too, is astounded that not everyone in heaven was privy to the exterminations. Sera insists she is merely fulfilling her duty to protect her people, but Emily stands in solidarity with Charlie.

Charlie is determined to stay longer, continuing her mission to turn heaven against itself. However, a worried Vaggie urges her to leave. Taking advantage of this moment, Adam and Lute reveal to Charlie that Vaggie was once an angel herself.

Sera then speaks on behalf of the court, declaring that there is no evidence to suggest souls in hell can be redeemed. Adam sends Charlie and Vaggie back to hell with a chilling promise: they will be the first to face extermination when the time comes. Emily vows to find a solution, but Sera reminds her of her duty to bring joy to their citizens. Emily responds that she cannot do so knowing they are causing suffering to countless others.
