The revelation unfolds that the spirit's captivity was but a prelude to an sinister transformation—a ritual meant to elevate it to the status of an evil deity, with the life of the ritualist as the ultimate sacrifice. The shamans fortify the house, ensuring no interruption can halt their grim ceremony. Furthermore, it is disclosed that for the spirit to attain deityhood, it must claim the lives of one hundred souls, a quota it approaches with ominous swiftness.
Elsewhere, Sung-ah reveals her poignant request to Gyeon-woo: five more days of friendship, a poignant plea that hints at deeper, untold stories. She also uncovers the mask behind Yeom-hwa's facade, shedding light on his true nature.
The following day, an eerie tension permeates the air, as everyone senses the strained dynamics between Sung-ah and Gyeon-woo. Finally, Sung-ah escorts Gyeon-woo and Ji-ho to the rooftop, the windswept expanse becoming the stage for her confession. Yet, Gyeon-woo, still nursing his wounds, views her honesty with a jaundiced eye, suspecting her motives and believing her befriending him to be but a cunning maneuver.

However, the cup he clutches shatters upon impact, leaving his hand gashed. Puzzled by the failure of the human talisman's touch, Sung-ah pays a visit to her classmate's abode seeking clarity. There, she uncovers that the baby ghost had become ensnared within one of the girl's dolls, which the latter refuses to relinquish.
Elsewhere, Gyeon-woo begins to connect the dots, realizing that Sung-ah's every touch bore the hallmarks of a shaman's intent. The following day, amidst the hushed whispers of the library, the baby ghost threatens to resume its wailing. Later, Sung-ah crosses paths once more with the deranged woman who had previously tormented her friend, the one haunted by the specter of an infant. The woman, eyes burning with desperation, insists that her baby be returned. This encounter prompts Sung-ah to revisit her friend, relaying the grim revelation that her recent ailments are the work of the vengeful ghost.
