Episode 6 of "Head Over Heels" kicks off with a poignant flashback, where Gyeon-woo comes to a stark realization—he had carelessly discarded Sung-ah's heartfelt gift. Driven by guilt, he rushes back to retrieve it, only to find Sung-ah sobbing in the relentless downpour. His heart aching, he gently escorts her back to his abode.
Inside his home, Sung-ah's gaze falls upon photographs of Gyeon-woo and his beloved grandmother, adorned with a script that speaks of a malevolent curse. She solemnly reveals that this curse, cast upon his late grandmother, binds her spirit to this realm, preventing her from achieving eternal peace. The sole remedy, she explains, is to consume the photographs in flames.
Gyeon-woo is overwhelmed with sorrow, imploring Sung-ah to explore alternate avenues to free his grandmother without resorting to such a drastic measure. He draws parallels between Sung-ah and Yeom-hwa, revisiting the turmoil his life has endured. Faced with no immediate solution, Sung-ah departs, her heart heavy with the weight of the situation.
Meanwhile, Gyeon-woo sets off to his parents' residence, hoping to persuade Yeom-hwa to lift the curse. On a parallel path, Sung-ah ventures to the columbarium, where she discovers a sinister curse clinging to Gyeon-woo's grandmother's urn. With the guidance of her spiritual mother, she meticulously purifies, incinerates the curse, and immerses the ashes in consecrated water.
Elsewhere, Ji-ho, tailing Gyeon-woo for their school assignment, catches sight of him with Yeom-hwa. As Yeom-hwa attempts to cast a curse upon Gyeon-woo, Ji-ho's action figure miraculously triggers a protective spell, shielding him from harm. Sensing the presence of magic, Yeom-hwa feigns lifting the curse and infiltrates Gyeon-woo's house in search of the protective talisman. Sung-ah arrives at the nick of time, snatching Ji-ho's action figure from Yeom-hwa's clutches.
Outside, Sung-ah confronts Yeom-hwa, baring her knowledge that the curse was never intended to be broken. Overhearing their exchange, Gyeon-woo is shattered, ultimately deciding to take matters into his own hands and burn the cherished photographs of his grandmother.
Later, Sung-ah confronts Yeom-hwa, accompanied by her spirit mother, regarding her malicious deeds. As retribution, her spirit mother casts a reverse curse upon Yeom-hwa, one destined to claim her life. However, this spell exacts a steep price, and Sung-ah's mother willingly shoulders the punishment decreed by her celestial overseer. As the curse begins its insidious work, Yeom-hwa flees in panic to the house where an evil spirit lies sealed. In a desperate bid for survival, she shatters the head of a blood-soaked wooden doll and hurls it aside. We come to understand that but one more soul must fall to the spirit before it ascends to the status of a malevolent deity.
The following day, Sung-ah keeps a vigilant watch over Gyeon-woo through Ji-ho, subtly guiding him to touch Gyeon-woo and activate the protective amulet. Meanwhile, Gyeon-woo starts to grasp that Sung-ah has been his guardian angel all along, albeit the tension between them remains too tense for a heartfelt conversation.
During the boys' basketball practice, Sung-ah notices a gathering of faceless spirits, a sinister crowd awaiting the evil spirit's ascension to grant them visages. She rushes to her spirit mother's side, and together they battle the spirits while resealing the house. We learn that these spirits had been eagerly awaiting the evil spirit's ascension, hoping to be granted faces in return.
Later, Ji-ho and Gyeon-woo find themselves spending the night at Gyeon-woo's house to complete their project. During this time, Gyeon-woo acknowledges Ji-ho's attempts to shield him. He also begins to fully embrace the fact that Sung-ah's actions have always been motivated by his safety, especially after learning of her forced induction into shamanism by her birth parents, her appearance on a TV program, and the bullying she endured in middle school for being a shaman.
The next day, Sung-ah witnesses the school bully being abused by his father. As the boy flees, he stumbles into the abandoned house, where the evil spirit possesses him. The ghost of his pet alerts Sung-ah to the danger. Despite being strictly forbidden from entering, she does so anyway, with Gyeon-woo closely trailing behind her.
The episode concludes with a chilling vision: what appears to be Gyeon-woo, now possessed by the evil spirit, standing menacingly before Sung-ah.
