Episode 7 of "Head Over Heels" kicks off with a succinct flashback depicting Sung-ah dashing towards the haunted abode that ensnares the malevolent spirit, with Gyeon-woo and Ji-ho hot on her heels. As Gyeon-woo ventures inside, the door slams shut, excluding Ji-ho from the premises.
Inside, the sinister force seizes control of Gyeon-woo's body, a revelation that dawns on Sung-ah when she understands Yeom-hwa's sinister intent to sacrifice him as the ultimate offering for the spirit's ascension. Ironically, the malevolent entity develops an unexpected affinity for Sung-ah; whenever it touches her, Gyeon-woo momentarily regains consciousness. Realizing this pattern, the spirit devises a mischievous game: hide and seek, with Sung-ah hunting it down before Yeom-hwa does. In exchange for her success, it vows to spare Gyeon-woo's life. As Sung-ah initiates the countdown, the possessed Gyeon-woo, now an elusive target, dashes off.
En route, he crosses paths with Sung-ah's spiritual mother, who instantly commences a relentless pursuit. Soon after, she encounters Yeom-hwa, who collapses from exhaustion due to a depletion of spiritual strength. Meanwhile, Sung-ah remains behind to administer a ritual on Jin-ung, the school bully, aiming to restore his normalcy.
The possessed Gyeon-woo wanders the cityscape, only to find himself perplexed about navigating back to the school. It's at this juncture that he bumps into Ji-ho, oblivious to Gyeon-woo's plight. Their chance encounter leads to an impromptu arcade duel, but a sudden, ominous shooting noise unearths war-related trauma buried deep within the spirit.
Sung-ah's timely arrival interrupts the duel. Clutching Gyeon-woo's hand, still under the misconception that he is the spirit, she passionately implores him to spare Gyeon-woo's life and confesses her undying love for him. It's in this tender moment that Gyeon-woo momentarily reclaims his senses, and they both grasp the profound power of her touch in restoring him. They rush back to his home, where they attempt an exorcism, but to no avail. Desperate times call for desperate measures; they tie Gyeon-woo and Sung-ah together, much to the chagrin of Sung-ah's spiritual mother, who watches in dismay.
Elsewhere, Yeom-hwa lies unconscious, attended to by her spiritual mother and others who watch over her with concern. The following day, the malevolent spirit breaks free once more, making a beeline for the school. There, it encounters Gyeon-woo's coach and becomes enthralled with the art of archery. Ji-ho swiftly discerns that this imposter is not the genuine Gyeon-woo and forcefully ejects him with a powerful kick—just as Sung-ah arrives on the scene.
Meanwhile, Sung-ah's spiritual mother undertakes a curse-cleansing ritual for Yeom-hwa, despite their fraught history. A flashback reveals that Yeom-hwa was once her spiritual daughter and had undertaken a forbidden ritual, hoping to revive her deceased infant as a deity.
Back at school, Sung-ah sets her sights on the malevolent spirit. She christens him "Bong-su" and utters his name three times. As he responds, he is instantaneously frozen—revealing that Sung-ah had cast a spell using his very name. She reaches out to him, invoking Gyeon-woo's return.
Now reunited, they attempt to discreetly conceal their interlocked hands, but their gesture is not lost on Jin-ung. He confronts Sung-ah about summoning his dog's name. Sung-ah reveals to him that his dog's ghost has been ever-present, guarding him all along.
Later, Sung-ah discovers Bong-su filling out an entry form for an archery competition, insisting it is Gyeon-woo's desire. Sung-ah verifies this and learns that it is indeed true—Gyeon-woo had harbored aspirations to compete. On the rooftop, Gyeon-woo confesses to Sung-ah that he struck a bargain with Bong-su: in exchange for allowing him to participate, Bong-su may use his body while at school. Gyeon-woo then embraces Sung-ah, confessing his feelings, and the episode concludes on a heartwarming note.
