The third episode of Heartbreak High's second season kicks off with the Cumlords engaging in an outdoor activity. Voss assigns them a poignant task: to inscribe their deepest feelings onto paper and bury them, symbolizing the learning of suppressing their emotions. Amerie, however, struggles to follow suit. Unable to contain her heartfelt sentiments, she opens up to Missy and Harper about her relationship woes, seeking their guidance. They cautiously predict a melancholic conclusion but Amerie remains optimistic, believing that understanding Malakai's inner turmoil is the key to salvaging their bond. In a move fraught with peril, she conceives the harebrained plan of unearthing the Cumlords' buried emotions from the makeshift 'feelings pit.'
Elsewhere, Ca$h meets Woodsy in a serene park, pleading for a reinstatement at school. Woodsy, mindful of the well-being of other students, delivers a bleak prognosis, dashing Ca$h's hopes.
He keeps his disappointment concealed from Nan and Darren, whose company he cherishes. Beyond this concealed sorrow, Ca$h strives to evolve, embarking on a path of personal growth alongside Nan and Darren. He ignores Chook's persistent calls and succumbs to temptation, yet remains a project in progress.
Back at school, Amerie lags in her campaign trail, eager to clinch the campaign fund competition. She and Quinni hatch a plan to obtain handwriting samples after Bird Psycho leaves a cryptic note in her locker. Quinni insists that unmasking the perpetrator and salvaging Amerie's campaign is merely a matter of time. Nevertheless, Amerie faces an uphill battle to impress the Sydney Inter-Outer East Women’s Association and secure funding, as Sasha and Spider pose formidable threats. Missy and Spider's wagering adds an extra layer of intensity to the rivalry.
Meanwhile, Ant extends a helping hand to Harper, landing her a job. Their burgeoning friendship blossoms, casting a warm glow on their interactions. In stark contrast, Malakai and Rowan drift apart, with Malakai confessing his lingering uncertainty about his relationship with Amerie and requesting time to navigate his emotional landscape. Rowan, supportive yet wary, doesn't want to be caught in the crossfire of Malakai's introspection.
As Missy and Spider engage in a fierce confrontation, Amerie finds herself in deep conversation with one of the association's women, delving into the complexities of her relationship. The woman casually mentions the possibility of Malakai being gay, a revelation that Amerie fiercely rejects. Meanwhile, Malakai grapples with an identity crisis and opens up to Darren about his internal struggle. Darren, though supportive, encourages him to be honest with Amerie.
By the day's end, Spider emerges victorious, having cleverly repurposed Missy's derogatory attacks into a political advantage. He is undeniably a promising politician in the making, while Sasha takes the runner-up spot, and Amerie walks away empty-handed, save for a measly 50 cents she stumbles upon outside.
As the night descends, Ca$h arrives at Darren's workplace to pick him up, unexpectedly encountering Harper. The two have a heart-to-heart, clearing the air between them. Harper openly admits she holds no grudge against Ca$h and learns that Woodsy has denied his plea to return to school.
Elsewhere, Amerie and Quinni venture into uncovering the emotions pit. Amerie stumbles upon a note she believes to be Malakai's, bearing a heart-wrenching message of desire to forget her. Deeply hurt, she calls an end to their excavation.Regrettably, Quinni finds itself incapacitated in the task of completing the handwriting analysis.Across town, Missy finds herself plagued by erotic dreams involving Spider, leading her to ponder the significance of these fantasies. During their SLTS class, Jojo reassures her that such dreams are perfectly normal.
The following day, Harper persuades Woodsy to reconsider and give Ca$h another chance. Woodsy visits Ca$h's place, arriving just in time to rescue him from an unwelcome intruder, Chook. Darren is overjoyed to see Ca$h back in school, but their joy is fleeting. The Cumlords discover that someone has breached their confidential emotions, exposing their letters for all to see.
It transpires that Bird Psycho has framed Amerie, even planting a photo of her at the crime scene from the previous night. Predictably, the students and teachers remain unconvinced of her innocence. Seizing this moment, Malakai breaks up with Amerie and swiftly turns his attentions to Rowan. When Amerie, with Quinni's help, pieces together the puzzle, she is devastated.
Heartbroken over her breakup with Malakai, banned from campaigning for two weeks, and compelled to apologize to the Cumlords, Amerie feels her world collapsing around her. The only thing keeping her afloat is her quest to uncover Bird Psycho's true identity. Brace yourselves, Hartley High; a storm is brewing!
