Heavenly Ever After – K-drama Episode 7 1

Meanwhile, the gates of heaven welcome a fresh influx of deceased pets. Jjajang, Mandu, and Jjampong, acting as benevolent guides, usher the new arrivals through the various heavenly facilities, including heartwarming therapy sessions tailored to alleviate their earthly traumas. Some dogs grapple with separation anxiety, while others embark on journeys of self-love or seek treatment for obsessive behaviors. Ultimately, the guides lead the new dogs to a radiant portal marking the gateway to reincarnation. It is at this sacred portal that Mandu begins to emanate a soft glow, a divine sign that he is poised for his next journey.

Back in the serene but now unsettling heavens, Hae-suk is engulfed by an inexplicable wave of anxiety. Meanwhile, Young-ae, undeterred by romantic hurdles, sets her sights on the president of heaven, much to his consternation. Fleeing from Young-ae's advances, the president seeks refuge and imparts wisdom to the trio of canine friends about the significance of reincarnation. He elucidates that heaven serves as a temporary sanctuary for spirits, a preparatory ground for their eventual rebirth.

Mandu then faces a poignant decision: choosing his next place of rebirth, albeit confined to the bounds of canine existence.

Elsewhere, on the bustling earth below, Hae-suk and Nak-jun watch with fascination as a heated debate unfolds in heaven, pitting marriage against divorce. A fervent advocate for divorce points fingers at meddling mothers-in-law as the culprit behind numerous shattered unions.

This situation only heightens Hae-suk's anxiety, particularly when the pro-marriage speaker holds up Hae-suk and Nak-jun's marriage as an exemplary celestial union. Thanks to the broadcast, Nak-jun's mother makes an unannounced visit to their home. She scrutinizes every nook and cranny, leaving with a disappointed frown etched on her face, though Hae-suk cannot fathom the reason behind it.

The following day, Hae-suk ventures to the church, only to find the pastor ailing. With compassion brimming in her heart, she prepares a soothing bowl of porridge and a couple of comforting dishes for him. In the serene ambiance, the two share a tender, quiet moment, their bond resonating like that of a mother and son.

Elsewhere, Nak-jun transports Som-I back to Earth for his designated project. He visits the heartbroken owner of one of the dogs struggling with separation anxiety and hands her a letter intended for her deceased pet. Miraculously, the letter reaches the dog in heaven, who pens a reply that the owner receives in her dreams.

In another part of the narrative, after receiving a lecture on the importance of choosing the right reincarnation spot, Mandu finds himself reborn as a puppy to a homeless man. Even in these humble circumstances, he finally receives the affection he has always craved.

Concurrently, Som-I begins to recall fragments of her suppressed memories, vividly remembering herself begging a man who wore the same shirt.

Meanwhile, Nak-jun's mother pays another visit to the couple. Just as Nak-jun arrives, donning a suit after Hae-suk's scolding about his casual attire, his mother departs once again, her disappointment as inexplicable as it is palpable.

The following day, Hae-suk revisits the church, her steps echoing a renewed sense of purpose. This time around, she and the pastor share a bond over unearthing sweet potatoes, their collaborative efforts followed by yet another heartwarming meal meticulously prepared by Hae-suk.

Elsewhere, Nak-jun's mother opens up to Young-ae, confessing her awareness of Hae-suk's discomfort in her presence, acknowledging her past lack of kindness. Yet, beneath it all, she harbors genuine concern for Hae-suk. As she prepares for a permanent departure, her path crosses with Nak-jun's, and with a heartfelt plea, she urges him to look after Hae-suk, her words tinged with finality as she declares her intent not to return.

Back at their shared abode, tension mounts between Nak-jun and Hae-suk, their words clashing like swords. Nak-jun insists that Hae-suk make greater efforts in her relationship with his late mother, emphasizing the loss they both share. In response, Hae-suk confesses that it wasn't Nak-jun's mother who unsettled her, but rather the sense of strangeness that enveloped Nak-jun whenever he was near his mother's figure.

The episode culminates in a chilling scene where Som-I, accompanied by Nak-jun for work, encounters an elderly man donning a shirt identical to one from her earthly life. Her reality begins to fracture, memories of a violent past surfacing with haunting clarity – visions of her choking a man who had once mistreated her, the act a stark reminder of her tormented history.
