Episode 2 of "Heo's Diner" kicks off with an amusing misunderstanding, as Heo Kyun mistakenly identifies Lee Hyeok as Lee Yi-cheom, only to be corrected abruptly by Eun-sil. Somewhat perplexingly, Heo Kyun finds himself back at the diner once more. Recognizing his innate talent for waitering, Eun-sil's mother enlists his help around the diner. However, his refined upbringing leads him to commit a series of comical blunders.
Meanwhile, Lee Hyeok's true intentions in approaching Eun-sil come to light—he seeks to acquire her mother's diner, which sits opposite his high-end restaurant, and transform it into an exquisite Korean dessert haven. Yet, Eun-sil's mother remains resistant, albeit grudgingly willing to consider the offer.
Elsewhere, Heo Kyun embarks on planning his return to Joseon, while Lee Hyeok grapples with increasing pressure from investors regarding his ambitious project.
We are also introduced to Jung Mi-sol, a striking resemblance to Mae-chang but unfortunately, a forgettable actress better known as a meme for her subpar acting. She ponders over taking up an offer to work on an advertisement for Lee Hyeok's restaurant, possibly as a last-ditch effort to rejuvenate her career.
The plot twists when Eun-sil's mother discovers she has been terminated from her job, once again. Frustrated beyond measure, she turns to alcohol to drown her sorrows. Simultaneously, Heo Kyun lands himself in trouble by breaking into Lee Hyeok's office and inadvertently gets himself arrested. But strangely, instead of being escorted to the police station, he is mysteriously released, wandering the bustling streets, completely fascinated by the modern world. His inquisitiveness leads him to stumble into a live stream, moments before he reunites with a drunken Eun-sil, who passes out in his arms.
He carries her a considerable distance, and as they stroll past the Imperial Palace, a moment of realization dawns upon him. He isn't in a foreign land; he has traversed 400 years into the future. Eun-sil eventually makes her way home, while Heo Kyun, still grappling with the reason behind his time travel, retraces his steps.
Later that night, as he watches Eun-sil's mother shut down the diner and depart, he decides to wait there. But then, a chilling scream pierces the night. The episode concludes on a cliffhanger, with Eun-sil's mother being attacked and Heo Kyun frantically shouting for help.
