An unexpected twist arises when Jeon-man and Ki-jun awaken to find themselves sharing the same bed, leaving both aghast. Nevertheless, Han-deul puts a halt to all 30 contracts, casting a shadow over their efforts.

The Divorce Insurance – K-drama Episode 3 1

A nostalgic flashback takes us back to the in-laws taking out a joint policy, only to find themselves at loggerheads over the terms. The wedding fair scene that follows brings an onslaught of couples seeking divorce insurance. The team observes with astonishment as nearly every pair engages in heated disputes—one eagerly pushing for the policy, while the other feels utterly insulted. Han-deul emphasizes the urgency of scrutinizing applicants meticulously to identify those least inclined towards divorce, aiming for a divorce rate of zero.

The narrative pivots back to the sleepover. Ah-young expresses her desire to crash at Han-deul's, only to find it deserted. Graciously, Ki-jun offers his place as an alternative. However, that very night, Ah-young overhears Ki-jun conversing warmly and attentively on the phone, prompting her to confide in Han-deul that he might have a secret girlfriend.

Returning to the policy dilemma, the team embarks on training an AI model designed to screen couples meticulously. For the remarried sample, they are compelled to rope in Oh Jeong-do, a colleague loathed by all for his selfish demeanor, adding an unwelcome twist to their endeavor.

The AI training progresses smoothly, with the exception of Dae-bok and Ki-jun. Dae-bok's marital life is in disarray, lacking any spark or substance, while Ki-jun finds himself facing inquiries about his multiple divorces. A memory resurfaces of Jin-ju, Ki-jun's sister, spending time with him. She expresses her desire for a divorce, stating that she is unhappy. Young and naive, Ki-jun insists that there are myriad reasons to stay married and urges her to put in more effort to make it work. Hurt by his lack of understanding, she storms off, leaving behind a half-finished green knitting project meant for him.

In the present, the CEO remains skeptical about the policy's success, while Na-rae refrains from commenting. Fortunately, all the couples who had put their relationships on hold arrive for the assessment. Some argue, some are in perfect harmony, and some indulge in public displays of affection. Even the in-laws make an appearance and eventually draft a contract that satisfies both parties. However, Jeon-man makes a blunder by mentioning that some marriages are called off on the wedding day, offending the in-laws. Ki-jun, with his endearing yet pitiful demeanor, manages to win them back, earning an invitation to the wedding.

Elsewhere, the CEO and Na-rae devise a plan to launch the divorce insurance under their own banner without revealing their involvement. Meanwhile, the team shares exciting news with Dae-bok – they have successfully insured thirty eligible couples. Jeon-man intends to inform Na-rae of this achievement, but Dae-bok hastily rushes to her side to deliver the good news himself.

That evening, as Ki-jun and Han-deul's paths crossed while discarding the trash, an unexpected conversation blossomed. Ki-jun couldn't shake off his apprehension, fearing that he might have inadvertently shattered the bliss of contented couples by planting the seed of divorce in their minds. Han-deul sought to reassure him, contending that the future of any marriage is inherently uncertain and fraught with potential turmoil. Reflecting on his sister's situation, he finally grasped her perspective.

The following day, Han-deul accompanied Ki-jun to the in-laws' wedding, ostensibly to guarantee its seamless execution. Ironically, the intended couple absconded, leaving the embarrassed in-laws to proceed with the ceremony on their behalf. When Ki-jun initiated applause, it caught on like wildfire, spreading through the crowd. Grateful for his support, the in-laws even granted him the use of their hired limousine, now vacant.

Inside the luxurious limo, Han-deul and Ki-jun toasted with champagne, reveling in their stylish escape. However, their joy was soon curbed as the limo got wedged in a narrow alley, causing a traffic snarl. Ki-jun suggested Han-deul adopt a mischievous, overjoyed demeanor, and they bolted from the scene. Mistaken by some bystanders as another eloping couple, they garnered cheerful applause.

Meanwhile, a cloud of gloom hung over them as five contracts faced rejection. Adding insult to injury, the enigmatic caller failed to honor the hair appointment Ki-jun had arranged. Determined to tackle multiple challenges at once, Ki-jun dashed to a museum alone.

As Episode 3 of "The Divorce Insurance" drew to a close, it revealed that Jin-ju's husband, Un-hyeong, worked at this museum. Seizing the opportunity, Ki-jun implored him to consider taking out a policy.
