High Potential – Season 2 Episode 14 1

It is revealed that Dottie survived the attack but is unconscious in the hospital. Soto, the police captain, entrusts the investigation to Daphne, Dottie's mentor and close friend, who pairs up with Morgan to investigate the case. They drive to the spa, where they learn that Dottie had been a regular customer every Tuesday.

At the spa, they speak with the masseuse who mentions that the clients' arms are equipped with proprietary vital sensors. They deduce that someone was targeting Dottie and was aware of her routine. They begin their investigation by examining her classroom and office, where they discover that not everyone had been fond of Dottie due to her strict adherence to the rules.

In the office, Morgan notices that some files are missing and recalls seeing someone walking away from the office when they arrived. Daphne quickly gives chase and arrests the police officer who had stolen files from Dottie's office. The episode ends with the investigation still ongoing and the possibility of a deeper conspiracy lurking in the shadows.

As Soto and Karadec observe Daphne navigate her maiden solo interrogation, she keeps them abreast of the Arthur case's developments. It emerges that the white-bearded man is, in fact, Eric Hayworth from New Jersey. They're awaiting clearance from the doctors before bringing him in for questioning.

In the interim, Daphne impresses even as she interrogates Officer Hoff. Unfortunately, he's not their man. He was merely trying to prevent Dottie from filing a report on his missing gun. Meanwhile, they receive a call that Dottie has finally regained consciousness. She's elated that Daphne is the lead detective in her case. However, she's made numerous enemies, making it challenging to determine who might want her dead.

Soto visits Arthur in remand and reprimands him. He reveals that Eric is an ex-military man and that he's after Roman. Soto vows to uncover who ordered Eric to hunt Roman.

Frustrated by the Dottie case, Morgan extends a helping hand to Karadec and Oz in their investigation of the death of local personal trainer Luke. He was found dead at his home from an ibuprofen overdose. Morgan notices that Luke and Dottie frequent the same spa. Dottie arrives, defying doctors' orders from the hospital. Unfortunately, she doesn't know who Luke was.

Karadec and Oz interview people at Luke's gym, and no one recognizes Dottie. It transpires that Luke was poaching some high-profile clients from an old trainer, Amadi. Amadi clarifies that he had no animosity towards Luke; he respected his hustle. He denies knowing Dottie and provides a rock-solid alibi for Luke's death.

At home, Ava confides in Morgan about her classmates questioning how she secured a spot in the art program. They're accusing her of leveraging her Black identity to get in.

At the tranquil spa, Daphne and Dottie embarked on an interview with the owner, who categorically denied that Luke was a client. He further mentioned that all staff were attending a meeting at 9 pm, effectively ruling out any involvement from them in Luke's demise. Daphne's anxiety mounted as she felt she was failing Dottie. Just then, Ava sought advice from her friend, but Dottie's health took a turn for the worse, leading to a fainting spell that necessitated a rush to the hospital. This unexpected event provided the two with an opportunity for a heart-to-heart conversation about the sergeant's test, with Dottie encouraging Daphne to trust in herself and disregard the concerns about the fate of other Black officers like Karadec and Soto.

Later, Ava confided in Daphne about her classmates' issues, to which Daphne advised her to follow her heart. Meanwhile, Morgan had a revelatory moment when speaking with Elliot, which prompted her to return to the station and uncover what they had been missing. She realized that the killers had made a pact to eliminate each other's targets.

The investigation led them to Amadi's house, where they discovered that both Amadi and Luke were receiving nutrients through an IV drip. To determine who attacked Dottie, they needed to figure out who was assisting Amadi after his arm injury. At the station, Eric refused to speak with Soto until she secured him a deal, revealing only that he was working for a mysterious woman with significant influence.

The lab's findings revealed that Amadi and his accomplice used the IV drip to poison Luke and utilized the spa's vital sensors to monitor his condition. The spa owner admitted purchasing his drip from a black market supplier and providing some of his spa sensors as part of the deal, revealing Phyllis Martel as the supplier. Phyllis, once a trainer's gym employee, had a diss towards Dottie after being expelled for hazing allegations. The encounter at a sorority alumni party rekindled her resentment, leading to her involvement in the plot.

The police apprehended Phyllis as she attempted to flee to Tijuana by bus. Later, Soto shared Eric's demands with Karadec, revealing that his boss is Willa Quinn. She intended to reveal everything to Morgan in the morning.

In the open office, Dottie expressed gratitude to Morgan for her assistance and encouraged Daphne to continue fighting. Daphne requested permission to speak with Ava again, which Morgan granted with thanks. The episode concluded with Daphne meeting Ava and encouraging her to choose the life she desires, disregarding external opinions.
