The first episode of Season 2 of "House of David" picks up right where we left off, with the roar of the crowd from Israel in delight as David picks up Goliath's sword and decapitates him. Mychal's narration of the story of Goliath's sword and its impact on future warfare adds a layer of historical intrigue. Jonathan urges the Israelite soldiers to attack, and a bloody war ensues as soldiers from both sides rush to the valley. Meanwhile, Samuel watches everything unfold from a nearby high point, praying for victory.

As Saul prepares to enter into battle, hearing the war chants, he is still haunted by Agag's ghost. Mirab and Mychal try to hold him back, but he insists he is okay. However, a flashback reveals that Saul first defeated the Philistines and killed Achish's dad when he gifted Jonathan his first sword made from the molten bronze of the Philistines. Now, Achish is thirsting for revenge.
Back in the battle, Jonathan shoots an arrow at Achish just in time to save David, piercing his arm. Before Achish can move forward to attack Jonathan, Saul charges in with his men on horses. The bloody battle rages on as David's brothers try to find and save him. This is his first battle, and Jonathan protects him until his brothers arrive.
On the front line, Abner commands the soldiers to hold the line, while another set of armies attacks the Israelite's camp, forcing Mychal and Mirab to hide. On the battlefield, Agag continues to torment Saul, leading him away from the field. Jonathan sees Achish looking for Saul and rushes to try to help his father. Davis begs to go with him, but Jonathan refuses. Back at the camp, Mychal slays two soldiers in self-defence.
Captivated by Agag's spirit, Saul strays further from the battlefield, lost in a trance. As David flees to aid Jonathan, Nethanel, one of David's brothers, falls under the blades of Achish's soldiers. In a parallel sequence of events, Samuel, the old man, stands his ground on the hilltop, wielding a fierce resistance against the attackers. Despite his age, he proves to be a formidable opponent, vanquishing the invaders and continuing in his prayers. In a flashback, he recalls the day he anointed Saul and the ominous message he delivered to the king.
Meanwhile, Saul chases and slays Agag's spirit, only to be confronted by Achish, seeking to settle old scores. A fierce battle ensues, with Achish wielding Goliath's sword. Saul's sword shatters in an instant. Fortunately, Jonathan arrives just in time to save Saul from Achish's clutches. But as he prepares to strike, a giant appears, effortlessly hurling Jonathan aside like a mere insect and lifting Achish into the air. David rushes to Jonathan's aid, saving him from the giant's clutches.
On the battlefield, the Israelite soldiers gain the upper hand when one of the kings from the Philistine tribes is slain. They pursue the retreating Philistine army all the way to Gath. The Israelite soldiers celebrate their victory, but Eliab mourns Nethanel's loss. As Nethanel breathes his last, he asks Eliab to deliver a message to David.
After the victory, Saul and his soldiers return to camp, where Saul declares David his champion and bestows one of his robes upon him. Despite his reservations about David's true nature, Saul does not view him as an immediate threat. David insists on his humble origins as a shepherd, but Jonathan knows better. He gifts David his sword and welcomes him into Saul's family, announcing that David will soon marry one of Saul's daughters.
While clearing the battlefield, Doeg discovers Goliath's sword and secretly delivers it to Abner. Elsewhere, Saul finds Samuel and boasts of his victory, claiming he achieved it without Samuel or God's intervention. He believes that slaying Agag's spirit is a sign of his newfound freedom. When Saul orders Samuel to anoint him once again, Samuel resists. For this defiance, Saul has Samuel arrested, failing to heed Samuel's warning that his punishment is just beginning.
