Episode 6 of "How To Get To Heaven From Belfast" commences with Liam's unexpected survival after being shot. Despite his miraculous escape from death, he's in a precarious state and promptly rushed to the hospital. Concurrently, Booker escorts Dara, Robyn, and Saoirse to the lighthouse, demanding the Dictaphone's whereabouts. However, it transpires that Liam carries it on his person.

Elsewhere, Feeney scrutinizes Jodie's newly acquired ID, which has been transformed from Jodie to the alias of Grainne Marsh. As we delve back to 2003, we witness Greta's deceitful tale about Charles, painting him as an obsessive and jealous boyfriend. Although Greta felt remorse for her lies, she believed they wouldn't grasp the truth. With Charles' absence from town, she was optimistic that everything would be fine.
Yet, delving deeper into Greta's past unveils her as one of the surviving children of Heaven's Veil. Margo Heaney took Greta under her wing through a financial arrangement with her mother. This revelation shook Greta profoundly, especially when the girls discovered the cabin in the woods and decided to make it their new haven. When Greta spotted the ominous sigil on the wall, representing Heaven's Veil, she wanted no part of it and fled.
Upon her return, she encountered Charles, who claimed it was Greta's mother's idea to paint the sigil on the wall as she desired a conversation. The symbol haunted Greta, but she had the sigil tattooed to attempt altering its meaning and associate it with empowerment.
Now, it appears that Margo made a pivotal decision on the day she adopted Greta, effectively isolating her from Jodie "for her own good." That fateful night, Charles brought Jodie to Greta at the cabin for a clandestine meeting. Jodie is enraged that she was confined and yearns to speak out about her ordeal. While Greta has managed to move forward, Jodie remains haunted by what transpired in that cult. Greta is convinced she can assist her, but Charles must be removed to prevent his influence from further complicating the situation.
However, it's a bit too late for that because, in true journalist fashion, he's been lying and twisting the truth from the very beginning. He even has a Dictaphone, which has been recording this entire time. A scuffle then ensues between them as Charles tries to get the Dictaphone back. Jodie was the one who stabbed Charles in the back to save Greta. With Charles dead, Greta forces Jodie to run with the Dictaphone while she lies, protecting her while handling the situation. This is when the girls show up and together, they bury Charles. They attempt to burn the cabin but it starts raining, extinguishing the flames. This forces them to bury the body instead.
Back in the present, Booker shows up to see Owen and admits that she's killed Liam. She needs Owen to handle this, given his police connections. It's here where he makes some calls and finds out that Liam is still alive. It turns out that the mystery box stopped the bullet!
At the lighthouse, Robyn and Dara both realize that Saoirse was the one who sent them the letters. She was so desperate for the truth that she resorted to lying to them to bring her friends into her investigation. Both Dara and Robyn are pissed when they find out, but through their fighting, they manage to break free from their binds.
The lighthouse is shut up tight, so they begin looking around for clues. On a piece of paper, Saoirse manages to discover a number and a name - the same one scribbled by Greta that she memorized and swallowed while Feeney was distracted.
At the hospital, Booker shows up and manages to take off with the Dictaphone, pretending to be an off-duty officer. With no evidence and nowhere else to turn, Liam heads back to see Andrew and explains that the Dictaphone is a crucial piece of evidence. It actually holds a recording from Charles in the past. Liam didn't hear much, but Charles did mention that the "sorrowful woman" has a cottage, which links back, unsurprisingly, to the cabin. To try and get more answers, they head off to the school and speak to the headmistress about the girls.
She remembers Charles and how he actually offered her money in exchange for Greta's file. She didn't bite but she will for these two when she learns that Greta is dead. It turns out that Greta's birth mother is a woman called Nora O'Hara, and there's an additional note - strictly no contact.
As the episode closes out, Greta decides to make a run for it when she gets the chance.
