In Episode 4 of "If Wishes Could Kill," Se-ah is jolted from a nightmare where it's raining blood and she witnesses a gruesome scene: a girl with her throat slit and blood-soaked. Suddenly, another girl in uniform, faceless, attacks her. Haetsal wakes her up, and Se-ah quickly reassures her that she's fine. Before they leave, Haetsal gives her a protection bracelet and warns her not to take it off or respond to any calls or messages from their phone. She also asks Bang-wool to take care of the kids while they search for the maehyung.

On their way out, Ha-joon thanks his sister for her help and expresses sadness that she can't leave the house in the forest. Bang-wool reassures him that he will find a way. Meanwhile, Geon-woo sneaks out of the hospital and rushes to Se-ah's house, surprised to find Na-ri, who claims she was sent by Se-ah's aunt. Na-ri pretends to help Geon-woo look for his phone, but she already has it.
Elsewhere, Ha-joon, Bang-wool, and Se-ah return to his place to retrieve Hyeong-wook's laptop. They try to investigate Hyeong-wook's recent activities to see how he found out about Gigiro. While investigating, Hyeong-wook's Discord friend reaches out, implying that he heard that the latter was dead and wanted to check if the rumor was true. He was worried something had happened because of him. Bang-wool questions whether this friend is the one who led Hyeong-wook to the app.
The friend sets up a meeting to give Hyeong-wook something he had asked him to get, unaware that he's talking to Hyeong-wook's friends, which is actually a trap. On the other hand, Bang-wool, Se-ah, and Ha-joon try to figure out the meeting spot. Thanks to Ha-joon's computer skills, they retrace Hyeong-wook's steps and find the spot. Min Soo-san quickly realizes something is off and makes a run for it. After a wild chase that ends on the rooftop, they finally catch him.
By this point, he is in a state of terror, having been inadvertently struck by the door twice. He openly admits to being Hyeong-wook's friend and providing him with drugs to help manage the after-effects of the other drugs he was consuming. He confesses to being aware of the app and insists that Hyeong-wook should have read the warning carefully. Apparently, a story about the ghost of Seorin High was posted online, and Soo-san can only recall the main characters' names—Kwon Si-won and Do Hye-rung. He also clarifies that the post was likely taken down due to the photos attached to it.
Ha-joon searches through Hyoeng-wook's laptop to uncover the photo's metadata, while Bang-wool enquires about directions to Hye-rung's house. Unfortunately, Soo-san only knows the neighborhood where she resides. Ha-joon locates the image, and they send it to Haetsal. She urges them to proceed with caution as they search for Hye-rung, expressing her concern that the evil spirit went to great lengths to attack Se-ah while she slept within the house.
The trio embarks on a journey to the neighborhood, searching for shaman flags to identify Hye-rung's residence. As it turns out, she is the daughter of a renowned shaman in the area. It takes them most of the day, and they eventually seek assistance from an elderly woman. She informs them that Hye-rung's mother has passed away and clarifies that Hye-rung is indeed the other girl in the photograph they discovered. On their way out, Bang-wool procures salt from the old lady.
They break into Hye-rung’s house, and it quickly becomes evident that the place is more or less abandoned. Throughout their journey, Bang-wool uses his compass to detect any lingering evil spirits. As they approach the door, it tingles, alerting him to one. To protect the kids, he asks them to stand close to each other and draws a circle around them, using salt to create a ward that shields them from any stray spirits. He hints to Ha-joon to use the opportunity to win over Se-ah.
He heads inside the house to investigate further and tells them to yell for help if anything happens. He also makes them promise to run back to the car if he is not back within ten minutes, reminding them that they can never look back when running.
Inside, Bang-wool discovers evidence of eerie shamanism, which worries him, especially since he also noted a ruined temple near the gate. He is unsure what exactly Hye-rung’s mom was up to. Was she a shaman or a ritual master?
The more he explores the house, the weirder it gets. Behind a closed-off wall, he finds evidence of a dark ritual. In the closet, he finds heads of dead birds, and his compass begins to vibrate intensely. Of more concern is that Se-ah accidentally gets out of the ward when Ha-joon hits her to kill a mosquito on her face. She sees one of the evil spirits again. This time, the girl in uniform leads her to a shallow hole, where she finds a talisman, a uniform from their school, and a picture of Hye-rung and another girl.
After finding the picture, Ha-joon calls out for Bang-wool. He rushes outside to discover they broke the ward. They show him the picture and send pictures of everything they found to Haetsal. Just like Bang-wool, she is confused about whether Hye-rung’s mom was cursing or trying to save someone. She mixed both elements of the temple and the shrine.
With the shaman dead, it looks like they won’t be getting any answers. For now, they decide to focus on finding the red phone. After looking at the photo of the girls, Haetsal recognizes the window from the realm where Se-ah was taken before. She believes that one of the girls must have used her phone to take a picture there and accidentally turned it into a maehyung.
Ha-joon suggests using the metadata to reverse-find the location of all the Girigo videos. Unfortunately, they can’t access the server since it only allows registered devices to log in. Se-ah recognizes the file server website from Coach Song’s computer.
As they make a plan to break into the school, Ha-joon asks if Se-ah can identify the spirit at Hye-rung’s house. Se-ah says she didn’t see her face but thinks the girl is trying to help her by leading them to clues. She and Ha-joon break into the school and use the coach’s computer to log into Girigo’s video server. They are shocked to see a video posted by a drunk Na-ri, claiming her wish is to see two people die. One of them is Hyeong-wook. Her video was recorded before he died, so how is she still alive?
The scene cuts to Na-ri and Geon-woo breaking into the school together.
