Episode 6 of Season 2 of *Invasion* kicks off with the subplot centered around Aneesha and Luke. The convoy finds itself stranded roughly 100 miles from Camp Pierce in Wyoming, where the military has seemingly taken Sarah into custody. As Luke and Ryder engage in a discussion about the alien shard stowed in the back, Aneesha eavesdrops intently. Suddenly, Luke's face contorts in agony as he starts hearing voices in his head, and he shrieks a warning about impending danger.
Through the swirling mist, a pack of hunter-killer aliens materializes and gives chase to the convoy's vehicles. All of them, with the exception of Clark and Aneesha's car, suffer the onslaught. At this point, it remains uncertain whether there have been casualties among their ranks. Aneesha and Clark's vehicle flips over as Clark desperately attempts to avoid colliding with another vehicle on the chaotic road.
Next, our attention shifts to Paris, France, where the band of "reckless kids" has pressed onward. Darwin is no longer with the group, having been dispatched to a hospital after sustaining injuries in Episode 4. They opt to spend the night at Monty and Pen's opulent residence before setting off for the hospital the following day. The kids revel in the luxuries of the house, savoring a sense of normalcy that has long eluded them.
As they discuss the day ahead, Monty plays the role of the pessimist, laying bare the harsh truth of their situation. All the optimism that has propelled them forward might prove futile if Caspar is not at the hospital—or worse, if he has perished. It's a stark and plausible reality, and Monty is undeniably correct, though the hopeful Jamila is less than thrilled to hear it.
Episode 6 then transitions to Mitsuki's subplot, a twist that catches viewers off guard. Yet, it is this very storyline that injects the most intrigue into *Invasion*, rendering this episode truly captivating. Nikhil is eager to send Mitsuki back into the fray; Mitsuki herself is equally determined to return. However, Maya insists on caution, first wanting to conduct a baseline test. The stakes are high—losing their most valuable asset in the war could have dire consequences for the world. Nikhil reluctantly acquiesces, and Mitsuki fails the test. Undeterred, Maya pushes Mitsuki to her limits, reasoning that the alien forces would do no less.
Meanwhile, Aneesha and the kids regain consciousness. Clark, however, is gravely injured. By some stroke of fortune, he has survived, and they manage to extricate him from the wreckage. Aneesha quickly improvises, using a belt to stanch the bleeding from his wound. It transpires that much of the convoy has, miraculously, survived and has converged on their location. Hanley proposes that they camp for the night, keep their distance from the aliens, and resume their journey the following day. But Aneesha is adamant that they should press on, arguing that the aliens will not cease their pursuit. Clark sides with Aneesha, and the group trudges forward, their resolve unbroken.
Jamila's sleep is shattered as she frantically searches for and strains to hear Caspar’s voice in her dreams, only to find it absent. Could this mean he has awakened from his coma? It certainly seems plausible, for the moment. When she finds Monty awake as well, he confides that he's been deeply troubled by his father's absence in both Penny’s and his life. His father had divorced their mother and remarried, now living in Paris with his new wife. Jamila attempts to reassure Monty, urging him not to believe his father doesn’t love him. Recognizing his earlier mistake, Monty apologizes sincerely.
In the episode's pivotal moment, Mitsuki re-enters the scene. She converses with Hinata in Japanese as the alien entity endeavors to convey that Hinata is not real. It urges Mitsuki to remove her helmet, promising to show her something, and Mitsuki complies, much to the astonishment of those observing from the outside. Transported to a tranquil beach, Mitsuki witnesses a young girl flying a kite—a scene plucked from one of Hinata’s childhood memories. Overwhelmed by a profound sense of sorrow, Mitsuki moves her hands in an enigmatic manner. Maya, alarmed, watches as Mitsuki’s vitals spike dangerously and she begins to tremble.
Tomas, moving closer, realizes the tremors are actually Mitsuki using Morse code to communicate. They opt not to pull her out. The alien force entices Mitsuki to remain in the dreamscape, but she declines. Seizing the moment, Maya activates the electromagnets in the room, causing the alien to screech in agony. Mitsuki collapses unconsciously to the floor and is subsequently retrieved as the alien force retreats.
Upon waking, Mitsuki discerns that the vibrational frequencies emitted by the alien after exposure to the electromagnets constitute the aliens' language. This knowledge is now firmly ingrained in her mind. She believes she might be able to translate the alien's warbling sounds into written language, study it, and make significant strides in communicating with them.
Jamila and her group arrive at the hospital, their hopes dashed by the sight of the devastation wrought by the alien attack. Jamila succumbs to a breakdown, but Monty endeavors to calm her. Penny detects a tapping sound emanating from one of the rooms, and to their relief, they discover that Caspar has awakened from his coma. Jamila embraces him tightly, and the group looks to him for guidance.
Meanwhile, Luke once again hears a voice and points towards a cluster of sleeping aliens. As one stirs, the convoy takes flight. The other aliens awaken and give chase. Several members are lost in the ensuing chaos, but the convoy manages to reach Bradford, who awaits them with transportation on the other side.
Rachel realizes with dread that her little girl is lost in the woods. Determined to set an example, Aneesha rushes in despite protests. She locates the girl and emerges from the woods with her. However, they are confronted by an alien right in front of the convoy. Clark holds his fire, fearing for Aneesha and the child's safety. Aneesha exhausts her ammunition, but the alien remains unscathed. It is Luke who ultimately saves them by repeatedly screaming “Stop!” at the alien, finally penetrating its mind. Luke neutralizes the alien, allowing the convoy to escape safely.
