The eighth episode of Invincible's third season kicks off with an explosive confrontation between Conquest and Invincible. Far from being an ambassador of the greatness of the Viltrum Empire, Conquest emerges as a bloodthirsty soldier, relishing the taste of battle. Mark, uninterested in any form of dictum, engages in a fierce exchange of blows that reverberates across the cityscape.

Invincible – Season 3 Episode 8 1

This epic clash is unwittingly televised for all to see, prompting Oliver to rush to Mark's aid, much to Debbie's chagrin as she watches alongside Paul. Oliver's valiant attempt to intervene ends in defeat, as he is overwhelmed and requires immediate medical assistance. It becomes crystal clear that Conquest's strength far outstrips Mark's, toying with him as if he were a mere pawn.

Eve, awakening in the hospital, senses Mark's peril and resolves to intervene. Cecil tries to dissuade her, understanding full well that confronting Conquest amounts to suicide given his immense power. This scenario eerily echoes Mark's train ordeal from season one, but this time, Conquest sends Mark hurtling through the city and onto a beach, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. It's a harrowing spectacle, until Eve bravery leaps into the fray. She holds her ground for a while, yet Conquest retaliates with devastating force, reducing her to smithereens.

Mark fights with unwavering courage, but as defeat looms, Eve, seemingly defying the laws of nature, reappears and unleashes a colossal blast of energy, shredding Conquest's skin. This act proves just enough to weaken Conquest, allowing Mark to deliver the finishing blow with a devastating headbutt, ending Conquest's reign of terror.

As for Eve, she collapses on the ground, nude and vulnerable, and both she and Mark are rushed to the hospital. Three days pass, with Mark still recovering in his hospital bed. Eve, however, is on the mend, walking around and revealing that, although she didn't perish (obviously), she came perilously close. During her fetal development, mental blocks were imposed on her powers, limiting their full potential. This is the reason she couldn't manipulate sentient blocks. However, those shackles have been shattered, and her brush with death was enough to rebuild her entire body and unleash the full spectrum of her powers.

As for Cecil, he collaborates with Sinclair in the daunting task of reassembling his robot army, utilizing the remnants of the fallen multiversal Invincibles who succumbed on the grim battlefield. Mark instructs Cecil to incinerate Conquest's corpse, but the narrative conveniently fades before we witness the act being carried out. In reality, Cecil opts against the焚烧, instead keeping Conquest interred beneath the earth, subject to constant surveillance. His motive is clear: to extract crucial information pertaining to the enigmatic Viltrum Empire.

Meanwhile, a coalition of heroes gathers to commemorate the late Rex, their fallen comrade. Amidst their solemn tribute, hints of the forthcoming fourth season begin to emerge, casting a preview of what lies ahead. Battle Beast is miraculously rescued from the void of space, while Angstrom, rebuilt once more, finds himself indebted to the Technicians and must work alongside them to repay his newfound life's cost.

The post-credit scene unveils a fleeting glimpse of a formidable adversary, Darkblood, a sorcerer with sinister intentions. He aspires to conjure a dark entity of immense power—perhaps even targeting Mark as the focal point of his dark magic. Could this be a harbinger of Mark's future entanglements with forces beyond his comprehension?
