This latest Globe marked White's unprecedented third consecutive win in the same category, following his triumphs in 2023 and 2024. With this hat-trick, he joins the elite ranks of Michael J. Fox and Alan Alda, who have also won three straight years in the Best Actor in a Television Series – Comedy category. Notably, Alda achieved this feat four times consecutively for his role in "M*A*S*H" from 1980 to 1983.

White's next acting endeavor will see him portraying the legendary Bruce Springsteen in the biographical film "Deliver Me From Nowhere," chronicling the rock icon's creative journey during the making of his iconic 1982 album "Nebraska." Springsteen himself has heaped praise on White's portrayal, commending his "very well" singing and providing an "interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognize." Additionally, White has signed on to star in "The Mandalorian & Grogu," the first "Star Wars" feature film since "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" in 2019.

Presenting the award was Jennifer Coolidge, who lightened the mood with her whimsical humor. Before announcing White as the winner, the "White Lotus" star joked about honoring "the men who have the daunting task of carrying the weight of an entire series on their shoulders. And believe me, it's not easy." She added, "I know how hard it is for you guys to pretend to be nice to everybody, but then again, you guys do get very special treatment on the set."

Coolidge then hilariously recounted her own experiences on set, contrasting the "special treatment" given to Billy Bob Thornton, who was allowed to bring his pet coyote, while she wasn't permitted to bring her overweight triplets. "I just want to say thank god they let me bring them tonight," she playfully remarked, giving a shoutout to "Sheila, Sheila, and Sheila."

Regrettably, White was unable to attend the ceremony to accept his award in person. Leading the TV nominations, "The Bear" secured five mentions, closely followed by "Only Murders in the Building" and "Shogun" with four each.

On the film front, "Emilia Pérez" dominated with a record-breaking 10 nominations, surpassing last year's comedy/musical leader "Barbie," which garnered nine noms. Among films, "The Brutalist" received seven nominations, "Conclave" secured six, and "Anora" and "The Substance" each received five.

Viola Davis will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, while Ted Danson will receive the Carol Burnett Award, recognizing excellence in television. The Golden Globes ceremony aired live on CBS from the Beverly Hilton and was also streamed on Paramount+, hosted by Nikki Glaser.
