A flashback then unfolds, depicting a conversation between Social Service and Dani, where the former advises Dani that it would be beneficial for Silas to reunite with his family, as Boel is requesting his presence. It's revealed that Silas and Oliver have a detrimental influence on each other, as they were caught shoplifting and their drug test results came back positive.
In the present, a disagreement erupts between Boel and Elis over some disputed family land behind Elis' farm. While Ivar initiated the lawsuit, Elis believes she can resolve it without Boel's involvement. However, Ivar is determined to not let the dispute come between his family and trusts his brother to avenge Silas. Conversely, Boel holds resentment towards her brother-in-law and vents to her younger son, Kimmen, about how they are a burden to Elis.
Dani attempts to gather intel from Kimmen, but Elis is fiercely protective of him. She's left wondering about Silas' missing bracelet. A witness then comes forward, stating that he saw Silas and a man arguing on the seashore after getting out of a car. The dirt on Silas matches the shore, leading to the conclusion that the seashore is where he was murdered.
Oliver finally returns his mother's call and inquires if she found Silas. When Dani reveals that he's deceased, an emotional Oliver hangs up. Instead, he searches for his drug stash and starts a fight with some addicts.
The cops scrutinize Silas' phone records and discover two anomalies. An unidentified male (UM 1) had an argument with Silas about money, and the second person is Rene, a former delinquent who now works at Silas' old detention center. Malik questions him, but he claims that everyone uses his phone. Meanwhile, Dani tries to chat with the girls admitted to the center. Only Nathalie engages in conversation, but she lies about not knowing Silas. Dani also notices a carving on her forearm that's identical to Silas'.
In this episode, we witness the complexities of family dynamics and the devastating impact of Silas' death on those close to him. The characters' emotions run high as they grapple with grief, resentment, and the desire for justice.
On their return journey, Malik reveals that Rene is keeping something hidden. They also decide to keep a close eye on Nathalie. They stop by the disputed marshy land where they encounter Elis and Harald, who are out searching for tadpoles. Elis remains cautious of Dani and asks her to stop her nosy behavior.
Reluctantly, he reveals the existence of a third brother, Ragnar, who abandoned his duties but owes a debt of gratitude to Elis for saving him during an accident. He also points out that the will states that Ivar gets all the animals and machinery, while Elis only gets the worthless land called "Synden" (Land of Sin), which he is keeping for his son. He uses this as a pretext to criticize Dani for her poor parenting, which irritates her.
After she leaves, Elis lies to his family and goes to the hospital, where he dotes on Harald, promising to be home soon. Meanwhile, the cops spot Kare, a local thug, threatening Nathalie. Dani confronts her until she reveals that Silas and his friend owe Kare money. Silas obtained videos of the blacksmith with underage boys and blackmailed him for money to pay off his debts. All Nathalie knows and told Kare is Silas's meeting point with his friend in Malmo. It's worth noting that Oliver and Dani are from Malmo...
Dani rushes to Malmo much to Malik's dismay. He worries that they will be reported for professional misconduct and that they should wait for backup and a warrant. However, Dani barges ahead, stalking Kare. He bribes his way around, claiming that he's looking for the killer who killed Silas. The last useful information she gets is that UM 1 is at a drug house before Kare spots her and makes a run for it.
Malik and Dani reach the drug house first and ask around. While Malik questions the inhabitants, Dani sneaks around and finds Oliver's belongings. Malik finally gets a name - UM 1 is Oliver. He tries to comfort Dani, who storms off in tears.
