Love Story: JFK Jr and Carolyn Bessette — Episode 1 1

Carolyn, now a successful sales executive for Calvin Klein, wakes up in her chic apartment and heads to work. Rachel, her colleague, is hesitant about attending a date, and Carolyn gives her a pep talk while she helps her pick out an outfit. Meanwhile, John cycles off to the gym to clear his mind. The media speculates about John's failed bar exam and the potential loss of his job. Anthony Radziwiłł tries to motivate him, but John reveals that he won't get a full-time position if he fails again.

At the store, Carolyn impresses Annette Bening with her bold fashion suggestions. Calvin notices and asks her to pick out accessories for the actress, which upsets Tanya, Carolyn's manager. Tanya refuses to give Carolyn tickets to a fundraiser, but Carolyn insists on attending.

John tries to distract himself from his worries by playing football with friends. Later, at dinner with his mother and sister, they discuss John's dating life. He mentions his ex-girlfriend, Daryll Hannah, who his mother disapproves of. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis reminds John that he shouldn't worry about Caroline's personal life since she's married and has children. John apologizes for causing anxiety over his personal life in the media.

That night, John attends the Amazon fundraiser where he spots Carolyn for the first time. Their eyes meet outside, and John begins searching for her. Calvin sees Carolyn with his team and introduces her to John. They start flirting and the chemistry between them is palpable.

Carolyn spots Tanya staring at her and instinctively begins to leave the area. John, sensing her desire to depart, asks to accompany her home, but she politely refuses. Carolyn plays a game of hard-to-get, refusing to give out her contact information to him.

That evening, Carolyn is at a club with her colleagues when she shares her interaction with John. The group teases her about the model, Michael Bergin, with whom she often engages in casual encounters. When she notices Michael flirting with another woman, she deliberately draws his attention and then leaves the club.

Michael follows her and questions why she's toying with his feelings. Carolyn explains to Michael that she's not interested in a complicated relationship and prefers to keep things casual. She leaves to return home, and Michael joins her, where the two end up engaging in sexual activity.

The next morning, John shows up at the Calvin Klein showroom looking for Carolyn. He lies about wanting to buy a new suit. Carolyn takes his measurements, and the two continue to flirt. He asks Carolyn out for dinner, and she agrees. However, chaos ensues at the Calvin Klein office once John leaves.

Carolyn is upset when John is late for their date. John apologizes, and the two chat about the attention on his public life. She asks what John wanted to be when he was younger, and he talks about his interest in acting. John asks about Carolyn's family and realizes that she doesn't like talking about her father. John eventually walks Carolyn home and kisses her goodnight.

That night, when John returns home, he's shocked to see Daryll at his apartment. Jacqueline and Caroline are en route to meet John when Jacqueline learns that he's back with Daryll. She returns home, refusing to meet them.

Meanwhile, Carolyn is in a meeting with Calvin. She suggests using a new model, Kate Moss, for their brand, and Calvin is impressed.

In private, John tells Jacqueline that he intends to marry Daryll. She tells him that marrying someone famous would do more harm than good for him. Jacqueline advises John to marry someone who is not famous, as the Kennedy family is already in the public eye.

John thinks about Carolyn while listening to his mother's advice. The episode ends with Caroline reading a news article about John getting back together with Daryll.
