Love, Take Two – K-drama Episode 7 1

The inaugural night proves to be a whirlwind of activity, with Ji-an and Sun-young hustling tirelessly to satisfy the hungry throng. Jeong-seok and his colleagues also arrive, promptly drafted into service by Ji-an amidst the bustling chaos.

However, the evening takes an unexpected turn when Bo-hyeon's mother, Yeo-jeong, makes an entrance. Her demeanor is haughty, scarcely affording Ji-an the courtesy of an introduction, and she proceeds to create a scene with the village leaders.

As expected, Yeo-jeong's table, accompanied by the influential figures of the village, lingers well past closing hour. Seated regally, Yeo-jeong listens intently as the group pressures Ji-an into serenading them. Mid-tune, Yeo-jeong interrupts, suggesting toasts instead, stealing the limelight with ease.

Jeong-seok excuses himself from the table to gather his composure, seeking out Ji-an to offer an apology on behalf of his ex. He understands Yeo-jeong's incessant need for the spotlight and acknowledges her helplessness in this regard. Evidently, she harbors unresolved feelings for Jeong-seok, and as he escorts Yeo-jeong home, Ji-an cautions Sun-young to remain discreet, lest they stir up unnecessary trouble.

This isn't the sole arena of romantic rivalry, however, as the animosity between Hyo-ri and So-hyun persists. Their exchanges are laden with snarky remarks and daggers drawn in their glares, yet Bo-hyeon's choice of a partner has already been made, rendering the tension a mere backdrop for comedic relief.

As dawn breaks, Jeong-seok lends a helping hand to Ji-an, who endeavors to conquer the art of cycling. Their journey leads them to the school grounds, where Ji-an finally mounts the bike solo, only to topple over upon realizing Jeong-seok's absence. As Jeong-seok tends to Ji-an's minor scrape, she innocently comments on Yeo-jeong's beauty, a maneuver Jeong-seok isn't easily fooled by. He firmly reminds her to steer clear of past love interests.

Elsewhere, Moon-hee makes her appearance to inquire about Hyo-ri's wellbeing, probing into her symptoms and medications. She then reveals a message informing her of an incoming parcel containing her daughter's belongings. Hyo-ri readily agrees to assist in altering the delivery address for her.

Upon the arrival of Moon-hee's package, Bo-hyeon and Hyo-ri escort it to her. Inside lies an assortment of medications prescribed for anxiety and depression, a stark reminder of a condition she had officially discontinued with medical advice. For Moon-hee, also a doctor, this revelation is a particularly bitter pill to swallow.

On their way back home, Bo-hyeon and Hyo-ri stumble upon a serene locale illuminated by dancing fireflies, creating a scene both romantic and breathtaking. Hyo-ri opens her heart, confessing the existence of a tumor but her reluctance to become a burden. Bo-hyeon reaffirms his unwavering commitment, planting a tender kiss on her lips and reassuring her never to utter such words again.

At Masterpiece, the atmosphere shifts awkwardly with Yeo-jeong's reappearance, seeking Ji-an's favor by proposing she join her as a plot inspector advisor. Once there, Yeo-jeong scolds Ji-an, condescendingly asserting her superiority over the mundane aspects of planning.

It's excruciatingly awkward and cringe-worthy when Jeong-seok offers to take them home, enveloping the car in an atmosphere so tense it could be sliced with a blade. Indeed, the air is so thick with strain, it's almost tangible. That very night, Jeong-seok confronts Yeo-jeong, dressing her down for her abruptness and gross lack of manners. He lambastes her for mistreating Ji-an, who he insists doesn't deserve such treatment, and insists that she refrain from addressing him as "honey" ever again. Though shaken, Yeo-jeong remains defiant, convinced that Jeong-seok will eventually come around to her way of thinking.

Later, after delivering a package to her daughter, Ji-an pays a visit to Moon-hee, only to find her by the shore, lost in contemplation. As Ji-an approaches the water's edge, she catches sight of Moon-hee, who momentarily sees her daughter in Ji-an's place. Overwhelmed with guilt for her absence and lack of understanding, Moon-hee finds herself perilously perched on the rocky edge, only to slip into the treacherous waters below. Fortunately, Bo-hyeon and Hyo-ri arrive just in time to rescue her.

This harrowing ordeal proves too much for Ji-an as well, who breaks down in tears outside. Noticing her distress, Jeong-seok hurries over to lend his support. Ji-an unburdens herself, sharing her relentless hardships and the suffering she endures wherever she goes. She also confides in him about their strained relationship, admitting that he often leaves her feeling vulnerable.

Unlike in the past when he might have turned away and left, Jeong-seok instead steps closer to Ji-an, offering her solace. He encourages her to cry her heart out and envelops her in a warm embrace.
