The premiere episode of "Love You To Death" unfolds with Raul on the brink of undergoing a critical surgery, revealed to be battling angiosarcoma—a peculiarly rare form of heart cancer with a dauntingly high mortality rate. The attending physician harbors a glimmer of hope, believing aggressive chemotherapy could turn the tide, yet this revelation serves as a stark reminder of life's fragility for Raul.

Amidst his turmoil, Raul's girlfriend Gina displays an unexpected nonchalance, leading him to a garden center rather than offering comfort. Seeking guidance from an emotional coach, Gina ultimately concludes that Raul's condition is beyond her capacity to bear, deciding to end their relationship amidst emotional detachment. As a final gesture, she deserts him there, accompanied solely by a plant, as if symbolizing the withering of their bond.

Elsewhere, Marta, the freewheeling party animal and a semi-absentee employee at a creative advertising firm, navigates life on a rollercoaster of alcohol and drugs. An impending funeral obligation looms over her, compelling her to rely on her estranged sister Ana for support. Ironically, Ana stands on the brink of celebrating her baby shower, excluding Marta from the festivities.

When Marta is unexpectedly invited, the stage is set for a dramatic confrontation. At the shower, tensions escalate into a fiery argument between Ana and Marta, the latter voicing her cynicism towards parenthood and fearing a life trapped in "monotony and boredom." The celebration descends into chaos, with Ana's mood swinging wildly.

Marta's antics culminate in a scene where she lambasts not only Ana but also their mother for marrying a "dumbass" (who has Asperger's syndrome). Despite feeling out of place, Marta harbors a protective instinct towards her sister, illustrating the complex dynamics of their strained relationship. The episode paints a vivid picture of life's unpredictable turns and the raw emotions that accompany them.

Raul is picked up by his buddy Edu just outside the bustling garden center, who cheerfully urges him to embrace life a little more fully. Ironically, their paths cross once more at a funeral that Marta is also attending. Marta arrives fashionably late, casually waving a pregnancy test in the air, revealing her unexpected pregnancy. It seems that after all her musings on parenthood, fate is about to serve her a real-life lesson!

During the solemn mass, Marta creates quite a spectacle, eventually being compelled to address the gathering. She unleashes a scathing critique of David, the deceased, and his life choices. Yet, in a poignant turn, she concludes by acknowledging that no one is perfect and perhaps David did the best he could under the circumstances.

Marta's bold demeanor certainly piques Raul's curiosity, prompting him to invite her out for a drink. To his delight, she readily accepts, and the pair embarks on their evening sojourn together.
