Episode 2 of "Love Your Enemy" kicks off with a scene of Yoon Ji-won awakening in a panic-stricken state at her home, amidst swirling rumors that she had embezzled funds from the chairman, spreading like wildfire through the school corridors. Meanwhile, Seok Ji-won finds himself at his father's hospital bedside, following the harrowing midnight scare orchestrated by Ji-won's actions. Despite his son's earnest pleas, the father remains resolute in his determination to construct a golf course on the school's precious land.
Returning to the school's hallowed grounds, Seok Ji-won convenes a meeting with the faculty, proposing the establishment of a club for gifted students. The discussion quickly metamorphoses into a fiery debate, reigniting the rivalry between former adversaries. The meeting culminates in Yoon Ji-won being named the club's head, a role that also entails the humiliating punishment of dining with the chairman. During this lunch, we're privy to Yoon Ji-won's unrequited love for the school doctor, whom she has confessed her feelings to, eagerly awaiting his response.
Later, Yoon Ji-won decides to take her lunch break at home, where she's astonished to find Seok Ji-won unexpectedly present. He had inadvertently been drenched by Yoon's grandfather's garden hose. During their conversation, Seok Ji-won unveils the steadfast resolve of his father to push ahead with the golf course project. As they embark on their journey back to school, the two rivals reluctantly agree to maintain apretense of indifference towards each other.
Shortly thereafter, Gong Moon-soo, a flashy new gym teacher, makes her entrance at the school, acknowledging Yoon Ji-won's presence but struggling to place her acquaintance with her. Everyone else, however, recognizes Yoon Ji-won as a former star swimmer whose career was prematurely cut short by a devastating injury. Through Gong's arrival, we're introduced to the tumultuous years Yoon Ji-won endured in college, following the tragic loss of her parents.
Meanwhile, Maeng Su-a, a close friend of Yoon's, finds herself captivated by Seok Ji-won and cleverly orchestrates an invitation for him to join a teachers' dinner gathering. Unfortunately, a troublesome parent holds Yoon Ji-won up for hours, causing a delay. In spite of this, Seok Ji-won patiently waits for her in secret, hoping they can proceed to the dinner together—a gesture that only serves to irritate Yoon Ji-won even more.
At the dinner, an awkward moment arises when Seok Ji-won inadvertently catches wind of Yoon Ji-won being turned down by the school doctor. The atmosphere shifts to comical when Seok Ji-won finds himself comically trapped in a bathtub. Realizing he has overheard her conversation, Yoon Ji-won leaves him stranded without offering assistance.
After eventually managing to extricate himself, the two rivals find themselves locked in a heated debate over a barren flower tree. A flashback takes us to a poignant moment in the past where a younger Seok Ji-won confesses his feelings to Yoon Ji-won in a park. In the present, he playfully proposes a wager—if the tree blossoms with flowers, Yoon Ji-won must go out with him.
