Episode 4 of "Maamla Legal Hai" commences with Tyagi learning that Advocate Lallan Bagai, a seasoned counsel at the Patparganj court, is attempting to persuade the impoverished residents to vacate the plot of land where their homes stand. Bagai informs the men that the opposing counsel, Advocate Jaitley, has agreed to compensate them in exchange for relinquishing the land. Tyagi steps in and requests Bagai to cease attempting a settlement outside of court.

Parallel to this, a man named Praveen confides in Sujata about a woman who has filed a molestation case against his pet parrot for using expletives to harass her. Sujata is taken aback by the case and agrees to assist Praveen in saving his beloved parrot from arrest.
Meanwhile, Tyagi endeavors to persuade Bagai to bring Jaitley to court rather than allowing him the comfort of his own home. In another corner, Vishwas meets Varsha and her father for a proposed arranged marriage in the admin office of the Patparganj court. Varsha's father enquires about setting a wedding date, but Ananya's unexpected arrival in the office causes Varsha to reject furthering the marriage proposal.
In private, Varsha expresses her discomfort with the bond shared between Ananya and Vishwas, claiming that he clearly harbors feelings for her. Vishwas attempts to reassure Varsha that his liking for Ananya does not imply further intentions. He asserts that she is beyond his reach and falls outside his "aukaat" (boldness). Varsha demands that Vishwas convince Ananya to speak with her and declares that she has no feelings for him.
Sujata, in another scene, meets with another advocate over lunch and declares her intention to fight the case of the rude parrot on her own, rather than handing it over to another lawyer for a commission. The advocate argues that taking on the case alone is beyond Sujata's daring, but she remains unyielding.
On the other hand, Tyagi leverages the assistance of the administrative office to outmaneuver Jaitley. He requests Bagai to send a court notice to Jaitley's office, compelling him to appear before the Patparganj court for an official hearing in the plot of land case. In court, everyone, including Judge Sunil, is charmed by Jaitley's presence. Bagai argues that Jaitley had filed an incorrect letter of authorization and adds that he was not eligible to fight the case. Judge Sunil rules that Jaitley's team indeed made a mistake and asks him to correct it by adhering to the rules. Jaitley is requested to file a new letter of authorization to allow the court to proceed with the case.
After Jaitley files a letter of authorization, Bagai adds that his court document has not been notarized by Jaitley, further implying that he does not hold any respect for the Patparganj District Court as he is a Supreme Court Lawyer. Judge Sunil asks Jaitley to write an apology letter and wait until after lunchtime to continue the legal proceedings of the case.
At the trial of the rude parrot, Advocate PP argues that the parrot had learned to "tease" and "verbally molest" his client – Hemlata. He also alleges that Praveen, who was Hemlata’s nephew, had taught the parrot how to use expletives. PP argues that pet owners have always been held accountable for the behavior of their pets. He belittles Sujata and her lack of experience, calling her a realtor who is used to handing over cases to experienced lawyers. Sujata requests the court to adjourn so she can better prepare for the case. Judge Bainsla agrees to adjourn the court for recess.
Sujata is disheartened and decides that handing over the case to Bagai would be the best thing for her. Advocate Daleel encourages Sujata to forget her dream of getting a chamber of her own but she is suddenly motivated to work hard to get a chamber for herself. Meanwhile, Vishwas asks Ananya to talk to Varsha. He tells Ananya that he has a crush on her but knows his audacity and would never stand a chance with her.
Vishwas borrows Ananya’s car and tries to use it as an example in front of Varsha. He asks Varsha’s father to drive the car without any consequences, but he states that the car was out of his league and he would never drive an expensive car in fear of causing an accident. Vishwas tells Varsha that he also knows his audacity and would never approach the idea of dating Ananya. Varsha is finally convinced.
Meanwhile, Tyagi's plan falls right into place when Jaitley learns that Judge Sunil had gone home early due to indigestion after eating Rajma-Chawal. Bagai asks Jaitley to meet Tyagi and settle matters with him. An annoyed Jaitley meets Tyagi and the latter asks for some favors in exchange for settling the case.
Tyagi approaches Jaitley with a request to send an email blast to the 375 lawyers working under his law firm, urging them to vote for Tyagi in the upcoming Bar Council elections. Furthermore, he increases the compensation amount from 3 lakh rupees to 7 lakh rupees, hoping to settle the case on the same day and ease Jaitley's troubles.
On the other hand, in the "rude parrot" case, Sujata argues that the parrot had learned its abusive language from Praveen, the parrot's owner, who used to curse his aunt – Hemlata – behind her back. She alleges that humans often tend to curse people behind their backs, and the parrot had merely imitated the words its owner spoke.
Sujata claims that Advocate PP also cursed Judge Bainsla, and that cursing was not considered a crime when done in private. Advocate PP requests some time from the court to counter Sujata's claim.
The episode concludes with Tyagi gazing at a framed photo of Jaitley taking a selfie with Tyagi, adding a touch of irony to the situation.
