It soon becomes clear that Hee-joo had ulterior motives for getting Su-jong drunk. She records their conversations and takes suggestive photos of them. She sends them to Hwal-sung, proposing a deal. At the same time, Hwal-sung is preparing to accuse Yi-gyeong of domestic violence.
The next morning, when Su-jong wakes up, he finds Hee-joo dead. Su-jong receives a text from Sang-ho instructing him to take care of Hwal-sung. When he finds him, Hwal-sung reveals that he got a lawyer to make him the owner of one of the buildings, so the redevelopment won't go through without his signature.
Su-jong endeavors to uncover the truth behind Hee-joo's demise, yet Hwal-sung remains in the dark. Su-jong reveals to him that Yi-gyeong is carrying a child, a revelation that adds a new dimension to the already convoluted situation.
