In the seventh episode of Mad Concrete Dreams, we are transported back to Yi-gyeong and Hwal-sung's wedding, where Kim-sun's jealousy is palpable, while Su-jong's joy is infectious. Yi-gyeong, oblivious to the kind of man she's marrying, receives a heartfelt song from Hwal-sung, thanking Su-jong for hosting the party.

Fast forward to the present, Su-jong takes Kim-sun to a stunning new apartment, promising to buy it for her in three years. Hee-joo teases him about his haste, but their moment is cut short by Da-rae's arrival. Frustrated, Su-jong retreats to the basement where he finds Hwal-sung waiting. The latter has escaped from the hospital to confront Su-jong about his cut in the ransom.
Su-jong clarifies that their deal is off due to the police involvement, and Hwal-sung tries to shift the blame onto Yang-ja. Despite his friends' various excuses, Su-jong is unmoved. He reveals that he also made a deal with Deputy Nam to buy Mr. Kim's properties, shocking Hwal-sung who learns of Yang-ja's death and everything that transpired with Dong-gi.
Hwal-sung is enraged that Su-jong got involved with Deputy Nam, calling him a doormat. The conversation escalates, and Hwal-sung claims a headache as Su-jong grabs a golf club. Hwal-sung dodges and runs out of the room, pursued by an enraged Su-jong who chases him onto the street. In his escape, Hwal-sung gets into a car accident, and Su-jong calls an ambulance that rushes him back to the hospital.
The next morning, Su-jong's early departure catches Kim-sun's attention. He heads to the hospital, claiming he had a bad dream and wanted to check on Hwal-sung. The doctors inform him that Hwal-sung suffers from transient global amnesia and only remembers celebrating Yang-ja's birthday a few weeks back. He has no recollection of her kidnapping or Yang-ja's death.
With a heavy heart, Hwal-sung mourns his mother-in-law and begs to be discharged from his duties so that he can be by his wife's side during this difficult time. He even requests to be dropped at Yang-ja's grave so he can pay his respects. However, Yi-gyeong remains distant and unmoved by his act.
Meanwhile, Su-jong returns home and shares the news that Hwal-sung has regained consciousness but has lost his memory. Da-rae is relieved that her uncle is okay but wonders why her father looks so worried. As they converse, Kim-sun receives a message but chooses to ignore it.
After visiting Yang-ja's grave, Hwal-sung begins to inquire about the inheritance. They later meet with Yang-ja's lawyer to review the will. Yi-gyeong asks the man to handle everything after signing the necessary documents, unaware that Hwal-sung is secretly blackmailing the lawyer to transfer everything in his name. The amnesia is all an act. On the other hand, Yi-gyeong enlists the help of Loan Heaven's loan sharks to keep tabs on Hwal-sung.
At Se-yoon's building, Su-jong is forced to call an electrician due to multiple electrical issues. The electrician advises him to replace the entire system, but Su-jong requests a quick fix. He heads back to the basement and finds Yo-na and Dr. Jang waiting for him. They tease him about killing him before bringing him to meet Deputy Nam. The man asks Su-jong to find a way to get Yi-gyeong to sell Pyeongbukgwan to them. Su-jong happily agrees as long as he gets half the shares. Deputy Nam promises to consider it and has Yo-na invite Su-jong and Kim-sun to a private dinner with the relevant parties involved in the redevelopment. Once Su-jong leaves, he orders Yon-na to kill him after he gets the work done.
This scene is filled with tension and suspense, as each character's actions and motivations are carefully orchestrated to further the plot. The language used to describe their interactions and emotions adds depth and richness to the story, making it more engaging for the reader.
While preparing for the party, Su-jong brought up Kim-sun's affair once again. She reassured him that it was all in the past. Meanwhile, Yi-gyeong met with the nurse that Kim-sun had recommended. She told her that she was married to Hwal-sung and asked if she could get the same anesthesia they had given him. At the police station, Ju-ran continued her investigation into Su-jong. She was surprised when Yi-gyeong showed up with a vial of anesthesia and asked her to check if it was the same one they had used on her during her kidnapping.
At the party, everything went smoothly until Hwal-sung showed up and started whispering in Kim-sun's ears while Su-jong talked to Deputy Nam. Hwal-sung tried to pin everything on Su-jong, but Kim-sun revealed that she knew everything. He then changed tactics and suggested that Kim-gyun's death was due to Su-jong. Getting antsy, Su-jong interrupted and realized that Hwal-sung had been faking his amnesia. He kept his calm and, after the party, asked Kim-sun many questions about what Hwal-sung had said. She got mad and asked him to get over the affair she had. She pointed out that he was no saint either, since he had kidnapped Yi-gyeong.
Angry, Su-jong asked the driver to drop him off at the next stop and went to meet Yi-gyeong. He started by telling her about the redevelopment and what she stood to gain if she joined them. Yi-gyeong agreed to the deal but asked to talk before she signed the papers. Just then, Ju-ran called and reported that the anesthesia was the same. Su-jong came clean about knowing about the affair and the kidnapping, clarifying that everything was Hwal-sung's idea. He asked Yi-gyeong to be merciful for Kim-sun's and Da-rae's sake.
Meanwhile, Da-rae went to drop some snacks in her dad's office and received a message from a friend that Harvard had just sent their admission letters. In excitement, she used her dad's laptop to check the email. She was excited that she got in, but a bit sad that her friend didn't. While printing the acceptance letter, she came across CCTV footage of her dad attacking Hwal-sung. She took a video of it with her phone and lipread what they were arguing about. She went upstairs, all upset and refused to talk to Kim-sun. She locked herself in the room and continued lipreading the conversation between her dad and Hwal-sung, typing everything on her laptop.
Speaking of Kim-sun, she couldn't stop thinking about what Hwal-sung had said about her brother's death. After meeting Yi-gyeong, Su-jong ran into He-joo at a convenience store. She tricked him into thinking they were no longer allowed to drink there and asked him to join her at her office.
Elsewhere, Yi-gyeong confronted Hwal-sung and kicked him out of the house. The following morning, Hwal-sung cornered Kim-sun and insisted they talk. He played her a recording of Su-jong presumably talking to a lawyer about divorce. He asked her to divorce Su-jong so they could be together and offered to help her.
The scene cut to Su-jong waking up in He-joo's office and finding her dead. On the ground was a bloody glass jar, presumably the murder weapon. Just then, Kim-sun called him.
