The episode unfolds with the trial of US soldiers addicted to drugs, who killed a drug dealer couple. Prosecutor Jang's demand for the death penalty shocks the court and public alike. Meanwhile, at KCIA HQ, Director General Hwang confronts Gi-tae about his involvement in the meth business, leading to a violent confrontation. In an attempt to save his life, Gi-tae offers Hwang a monthly bribe of 300 million won and accuses Pyo Hak-su of being a traitor. Pyo reveals that Hwang has stolen a billion from him and agrees to set up a meeting between Cheon and Gi-tae.

As Ye-jin continues her friendship with So-yeong, she is suddenly swept off her feet by a movie date with Dae-il. However, Jang catches wind of this and confronts Dae-il, threatening him and his family until he agrees to once again become his mole.

Meanwhile, unaware of these developments, Gi-tae meets with Jang for dinner and drinks. They engage in a verbal duel, exchanging threats and insults. Realizing that Jang is not backing down, Gi-tae leaves but orders his assistant to drop the charges against Hye-eun under false allegations.

Later, Dae-il informs Jang of the first drug delivery to Yuji. Gi-tae keeps Hwang in the loop but is surprised when the director orders Pyo to accompany him. He rushes to his office and discovers that he has bugged Hwang's office as well. Overhearing Hwang's conversation with Pyo about taking over the drug business and eliminating both Dae-il and Gi-tae leaves Gi-tae shocked and wary of the dangerous game he's playing.

Yuji, once again an exploited subordinate, receives a stern warning from Chairman Ikeda not to let the clan down. If she fails again, he will dispose of her. Coincidentally, he is also ill, and it seems that he takes liberties with his adopted daughter, Ye-jin.

Ye-jin and Jang arrive in Japan a day earlier and are forced to share a hotel room, which happens to be a love hotel. They have an awkward night together.

It's time for the stakeout. They disguise themselves as workers and take photos of Yuji meeting Gi-tae and Pyo. After the transaction, they spot Yuji taking Gi-tae somewhere while Pyo sulks.

The narrative shifts to Yuji and Gi-tae bonding in Koreatown, sharing their experiences as Zainichis. She confides that she wants to take down Chairman Ikeda by flooding the country with her drugs, which means she needs 200 kgs of meth from Gi-tae. She even offers her help in increasing the output, and they flirt.

On the way back to South Korea, Pyo calls Hwang to say that everything is ready. He then pulls a gun on Gi-tae. At the port, Jang and his men wait to arrest Gi-tae, but only Pyo comes out of the ship and gives the money to Hwang. Jang is confused as he has his men staking out the ship while he follows Hwang. His car malfunctions, and he stumbles around on foot.

Meanwhile, Hwang arrives at the temple where an exorcism is taking place. He struggles to sneak into his safe in the basement. Once he arrives, he sees that the safe is empty and Gi-tae is waiting for him. They struggle, and it takes multiple gunshots to fatally wound Hwang.

Jang reaches the temple at that moment, but the exorcism masks the gunshots. He snoops around until he finds the basement but Gi-tae has already hidden himself. Gi-tae is about to shoot Jang when Hwang murmurs for help. Jang rushes out to call the ambulance.

In that time, Gi-tae burns Hwang and the temple. The people performing the exorcism add to the chaos, and Jang is distracted as he saves the "possessed" girl from running into the fire. He looks defeated as he watches the temple burn down.
