Made in Korea – K-drama Episode 6 1

The KCIA agent mockingly tells Jang that he'll lose without a powerful patron, and the prosecutor's office calls upon Chief Na to intervene. With the President's backing, Na warns Chief Cheon not to cause a mess before the re-elections. Cheon then threatens Pyo, who in turn threatens Gi-tae, ultimately leading to the release of the Jangs. Pyo even goes as far as to tell Jang that he's on his side now because Na is more powerful than Cheon.

On the program, Yuji suggests going to Vietnam to meet her Taiwanese supplier, and Gi-tae agrees. Unfortunately, Ki-hyun is also in the same city. Gi-tae has already pulled the strings, and Major Won offers Ki-hyun the empty position of the fired Investigator Nam. In exchange, Ki-hyun needs to go undercover and spy on the corrupt Colonel Chu.

The situation gets worse when Chu is having a rendezvous with an arms dealer in the same hotel where Yuji, Gi-tae, and the Taiwanese drug dealer are meeting. While Ki-hyun is eavesdropping on Chu, he spots Gi-tae's drug deal and is upset. However, he recalls Jang's threat of ruining him and So-yeong if Gi-tae is arrested.

Right then, a bomb goes off, revealing Ki-hyun's hiding place. Gi-tae is shocked and worried for his brother, but Ki-hyun just leaves. Meanwhile, Jang meets with Chief Na who hazes him before giving him his support. Jang plans to strike when Cheon is at the President's Busan rally. He also makes a deal with Pyo, knowing that Gi-tae records his allies as collateral and there's probably an incriminating tape of Cheon. He tells Pyo to find it in exchange for the Director General position.

The episode teems with tension and intrigue as each character strives for their own agenda while navigating the complex political landscape of Korea. The conflict between Jang and Gi-tae escalates, while Ki-hyun's undercover mission adds an extra layer of danger to the proceedings. The episode ends with a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eager to see what happens next in "Made in Korea."

Elsewhere, Dae-il has fallen prey to the drug epidemic, with So-yeong stealing from their own stash to feed his addiction. Jang, the lawman, arrests them both, but So-yeong remains stubbornly silent. However, Dae-il betrays his companion under Jang's threat to So-yeong, and with his confession, the prosecutors swiftly raid the KCIA headquarters and Cheon's office, arresting Gi-tae when he returns to South Korea.

In the midst of chaos, Pyo breaks into Gi-tae's cabinet and steals Cheon's tape. Cheon's anxiety mounts as Pyo vanishes without a trace and he learns of Jang's deal with Gi-tae. The President warns Chief Na to quietly clean up the KCIA mess.

In the holding cell, Jang attempts to undermine Gi-tae's trust in Cheon by sharing his own sordid past. He even offers to let So-yeong go if Gi-tae hands over the tape. Instead, Gi-tae shares a tale of his time fighting in the Viet Cong tunnels. Despite his men's desire to retreat, he followed orders blindly. US bombings based on their location wiped out the entire Viet Cong unit, including his own comrades. Furious, Gi-tae punched his commander and ended up as the sacrificial lamb. There is no justice, only power.

Jang's plan begins to unravel as someone sneaks a needle to Dae-il. He overdoses and dies before he can write his confession. Surprisingly, Pyo returns the tape to Cheon, who plays it for Na. It reveals that Gi-tae had bugged Na's office and recorded him siphoning money from two prominent campaign sponsors. Now Cheon controls Chief Na.

Gi-tae provokes Jang, who attacks him. However, Gi-tae easily defeats him and reveals that he knew of Pyo's betrayal and Jang's plan all along. It turns out that Prosecutor Kim is secretly working for Gi-tae.

Gi-tae is released while Jang is arrested for bribery. Gi-tae regains control over Pyo by threatening to tell Cheon of his disloyalty. The scene unfolds with tension and suspense, painting a vivid picture of power struggles and betrayal within the KCIA and its allies.

The news reports that Jang was collaborating with Dae-il's drug trafficking ring, which is also responsible for Hwang's tragic death. The KCIA is once again after Hye-eun, and Chief Na tells Seo to get rid of Jang as he is no longer useful. As Jang is taken to prison, he questions the worth of his patriotism. Gi-tae and Cheon celebrate, but the latter wonders if Gi-tae has something on him. So-yeong is pregnant with Dae-il's child and has resumed meth operations. With the Taiwanese supply, Chairman Ikeda approves of Gi-tae's partnership with Yuji, in exchange for the campaign budget for Gi-tae's re-election. At the end of the episode, Gi-tae becomes the KCIA Director General.
