Matka King – Season 1 Episode 5 1

The episode shifts to a night in 1969 when Anmol asks Brij to stay home during closing time. Brij receives a call about a risky bid that could cost them 10 lakh rupees. He asks the stall runner to accept the bet and agrees to bear the loss.

Brij calls Dagdu and tells him he will open the cards from his house. Dagdu warns him against it, but Brij does not listen. He opens the cards and picks a combination that benefits the bettor. He chooses to give the true winning number to Dagdu, even if it means losing money. Brij pays the bettor the full winning amount.

Meanwhile, Laljibhai praises Lachu for his work. Lachu suggests that Laljibhai join hands with Bapat to stop Brij. Laljibhai bribes a politician, who orders the police to raid the Matka stalls. Soon after, the police raid Dagdu's stall. Dagdu escapes and arrives at Brij's house for help. Inspector Eknath Thumbade follows him and demands to search the house. Brij refuses without a warrant and scolds Dagdu for bringing trouble home. However, he notices Barkha's concern.

Brij's lawyer later advises him to distance himself from the Matka business due to increasing attention. Meanwhile, Gulrukh buys a property to start her own hotel.

The story unfolds with tension and suspense, as Brij struggles to maintain his position in the Matka business while facing external threats and internal conflicts. The characters' motivations and actions drive the plot forward, leading to unexpected twists and turns that keep the audience engaged.

Brij spends time with her, offering comfort and solace as she reveals her desire to run the hotel under the name of her late husband, Russi. That night, Brij returns home, and the next day, Barkha notices Gulrukh's perfume on his shirt, sparking suspicion.

Meanwhile, Editor Shubhash enlists TP to write a story on Brij's business, which has expanded significantly, with gamblers flooding phone lines to track winning numbers. Dagdu takes Sulbha to his village, hiding from the police. His parents warmly welcome them, and Sulbha learns about his past. Dagdu proudly speaks of how the Matka business has earned him respect.

Gulrukh visits Russi's mother to give her the insurance money, but is accused of being involved with Brij and blamed for Russi's death. She defends herself and rejects the accusations. Elsewhere, Barkha completes her final exam and on the way back, a drunk bettor harasses Anmol and Rukmani, frightening the child. Barkha blames Brij's business for the incident.

Brij decides to send Anmol to a boarding school in Panchgani and informs Barkha, who strongly opposes the decision. Despite this, Brij sends Anmol away. On their way home, Barkha confronts him about the affair and his decision regarding their son.

Meanwhile, Brij helps Rukmani open a cotton mattress factory and also attends Gulrukh's restaurant opening. Laljibhai gives Bapat a large sum for his welfare fund and they discuss Brij's success and how he hides his black money. Soon after, the DCP orders Inspector Thumbade to arrest Brij. The police arrive at his textile store with a warrant and arrest him.

Brij's lawyer attempts to secure bail, but Thumbade insists on proving his involvement in Matka. The police claim that if the cards are not opened at 9 pm, Brij will be proven guilty. While in custody, Brij uses his lawyer to pass the winning numbers to Dagdu. The numbers are announced on time despite his arrest. Once Thumbade learns this, Brij is released as the episode ends.
