In the fourth episode of Matka King, Brij confronts Lachu about the accounting errors, scolding him in a manner that prompts Lachu to leave the house. Brij decides to investigate further by checking his old ledgers, only to be shocked by the revelation that Lachu has rented a separate room in the chawl.

At home, Brij tries to control Barkha's spending, reminding her of the attention from neighbors. Barkha reveals her plans to complete her degree by attending night college and states that Rukmani will stay as a full-time nanny for Anmol. That night, income tax officers raid Brij's house in search of black money. They find nothing except the small savings Barkha keeps in grain containers. The officers become frustrated and shout at the family, including their son, which upsets Brij.
Meanwhile, Vasudha pushes Lachu to bend the rules of the game to earn more money, mocking him for blindly following Brij's orders. Elsewhere, Barkha attends night college and begins learning accounting. One day, Brij shows Barkha a new apartment he has bought so they can move out of the chawl. She asks him to resolve his issues with Lachu and bring him back home.
At the same time, the government introduces a lottery scheme that threatens Brij's Matka business. Brij discusses this with Gulrukh, explaining how the scheme mirrors his system but is legal. She suggests taking legal action, but Brij says it is not possible due to the illegal nature of his business. Gulrukh tells him it is her birthday, and they share a moment. Brij leaves, thinking of his family, but the two continue exchanging notes and messages.
Meanwhile, Inspector Eknath discusses the lottery with TP, who criticizes it as similar to Matka gambling. Brij meets Bapat to discuss the conflict between their businesses. Bapat accuses him of diverting money from the state, while Brij argues that legalizing Matka would allow for taxation.
Bapat demands that Brij shut down his stalls, but Brij defies him and issues a defiance. In retaliation, Bapat disrupts Brij’s operations by cutting his phone lines. Simultaneously, Laljibhai embarks on his own Matka venture, replicating Brij’s model. Brij decides to meet Laljibhai at a golf course to negotiate. During the meeting, the two argue while Lachu attempts to mediate. He refuses to compromise and tells Lachu not to interfere. He challenges Laljibhai and contacts Gulrukh from there.
Brij notices that the golf course uses a private telephone connection and plans to use a similar system. He asks Dagdu to arrange a private line. Dagdu approaches a hotel worker named Sulbha to help with access to a private connection. Back at the textile store, Brij’s friend Antu meets him and reveals that he is running against Bapat in the elections.
Brij employs the government lottery to turn public opinion against Bapat by claiming he profits from it. He also uses lottery winnings to convert black money into legal funds. Meanwhile, Brij and Antu disrupt Bapat’s rally and influence voters. Brij also hides his money in secure locations to avoid future raids. Antu wins the election with Brij’s support.
Around the same time, Brij and Gulrukh begin an affair, while Dagdu and Sulbha grow closer. Sulbha uses the hotel’s private network to pass winning numbers to Matka stalls across the country. Elsewhere, Lachu argues with a gambler who calls the police. Lachu is arrested and taken into custody. Brij goes to the station but refuses to bail him out, reminding him that the business depends on honesty. He leaves Lachu there despite Dagdu asking him to reconsider.
The episode ends with Laljibhai bailing Lachu out and taking him under his wing. The narrative unfolds in a series of dramatic encounters and developments, showcasing the intricate web of relationships and power struggles within the characters' world.
