Episode 5 kicks off with a poignant series of flashbacks from Moo-bi's vantage point, illustrating Ko-gyeom's unwavering presence and devoted care for her since their fateful encounter. However, in the contemporary narrative, Moo-bi remains steadfastly mute when Ko-gyeom extends a tentative hand towards her, haunted by the memory of his abrupt departure. She harbors a deep-seated fear of repeating her past mistake—of allowing herself to become emotionally entangled with him once more, only to endure another heart-wrenching departure. Nevertheless, despite her firm resolve, Ko-gyeom's image continues to linger in her thoughts.
In the meantime, Ko-gyeom seeks solace and guidance from Moo-bi's childhood confidant, Jeong-hu. Elsewhere, the veil of misunderstanding shrouding Ko-gyeom's article, which tragically precipitated the director's suicide attempt, is finally lifted. He also accompanies Director Mo to confront the filmmaker who had once been discourteous to him. With calm composure, Ko-gyeom elucidates that the absence of tone and expression in written words can inadvertently convey a harsher message than intended.
Elsewhere still, Moo-bi crosses paths with Ko Jun, Ko-gyeom's younger brother, and it transpires that she had once lent him a helping hand. As they converse about Ko-gyeom, Jun reveals a more intimate side to his brother—despite his extroverted demeanor, Ko-gyeom often bears his burdens in silence.
The following morning, Ko gyeom awoke to the gripping hangover, his heart pouring with dreams as he recalls the out of control farce outside Moo bi's house the night before. Despite being filled with shyness, his pursuit of her remained undiminished.
Subsequently, Ju-a and Ko-gyeom paid a visit to Si-jun, urging him to embrace the project with open arms. Ko-gyeom's persistence only deepened when he realized that it was for Moo-bi's film.
Meanwhile, Jeong-hu began spending more time in Ko-gyeom and Jun's company. He unveiled to Ko-gyeom the community film festival that Moo-bi's father had once passionately supported. The next day, Moo-bi was astounded to find Ko-gyeom volunteering as a staff member at the very festival.
As the evening descended, they all ended up sharing a cinematic experience together, joined by Moo-bi's mother, Ko Jun, and Jeong-hu. During the screening, Moo-bi couldn't help but notice how intently Ko-gyeom watched the film, a mirror image of how her father once did. Ko-gyeom later shared the profound connection he harbored with cinema.
Elsewhere, Si-jun and Ju-a's relationship continued to unravel. Si-jun confessed that for him, time had stood still since their breakup, while Ju-a had moved forward. He begged her for some time to grapple with the changes.
Back at the festival, Ko-gyeom finally confronted Moo-bi, and she admitted that she was swayed by his presence. In response, he bared his heart once again and enveloped her in a hug.
The episode concluded with an epilogue where Ko-gyeom reached out to Moo-bi, noticing her absence. When she finally picked up, he realized that she had "unlocked" him—a telling sign that she was gradually lowering her guard.
