Episode 7 of "Mercy for None" unfolds with an intriguing discovery: Geum-son stumbles upon a firearm concealed among Yeong-do's possessions in his office, setting the stage for an atmosphere charged with tension. Shortly thereafter, the solemn rites of Chairman Ju-woon's funeral commence, adding a layer of melancholy to the narrative.
Meanwhile, in a different locale, Seong-won and his compatriot stand in anticipation, awaiting the arrival of a ship's captain. With a glint in his eye, Seong-won asserts that his ambitions transcend mere flight, hinting at grander schemes afoot. However, his declaration is cut short as he is abruptly assailed by two ruffian-like gangsters, and the twist knifes deeper when his own colleague, driven by treachery, absconds with his suitcase brimming with cash. It transpires that this whole orchestration was orchestrated by Geum-son through Seong-cheol, revealing a web of deceit.
Elsewhere, the dramatic tension escalates as Gi-jun confronts Yeong-do's minions, who are in the midst of transporting a mysterious package from the golf club. This package harbors a treasure trove of recordings implicating Yeong-do, as well as Geum-son, Ju-woon, Bong-san, and an array of other high-profile figures in compromising situations. With swift and decisive action, Gi-jun dispatches his adversaries and secures the flash drive containing the damning evidence against Geum-son.
But his triumph is but a prelude to an even more formidable challenge: the Japanese assassin, Kaneyama. A formidable foe, Kaneyama proves to be a near-equal for Gi-jun in combat, igniting a fierce battle. During this clash, a damning realization dawns upon Gi-jun—Kaneyama is the one who extinguished the life of Gi-seok. Fueled by rage and the memory of his fallen brother, Gi-jun summons every ounce of his strength and skill, ultimately prevailing over Kaneyama in a climactic confrontation.
The moment of reckoning has arrived for Yeong-do, alias Mr. Kim. As he spots Gi-jun approaching, Yeong-do draws a gun from his concealment, firing two bullets at his adversary. Yet, undeterred, Gi-jun presses on, delivering to Yeong-do a gory, harrowing demise.
Back at the church, Geum-son engages in a conversation with his superior, the Deputy Chief Prosecutor, and Yeong-do's undercover agent, now the head of Bong-san Group. With his persuasive prowess, Geum-son convinces them to align with his cause. Not long after, Gi-jun makes an entrance, paying homage to his former leader and hinting at an impending encounter with Geum-son.
After a solemn visit to his brother's grave, Gi-jun entrusts Hae-beom with a recording of Geum-son's incriminating conversation. He instructs Hae-beom to await his call and cautions him against escalating the violence further.
Do Gi-jun and Hae-beom succeed in unveiling Prosecutor Lee Geum-son's true colors?
Elsewhere, Geum-son and his boss orchestrate a blackmail scheme, coercing the prosecutor general into joining their ranks. The union between Juwoon Group and Bongsan Group is officially sealed, with De’cro Hotel being rebranded as JW De’cro.
A festive celebration ensues, where Geum-son addresses the gathering, reassuring everyone that their illicit endeavors will soon be decriminalized. He heralds a new system on the horizon. However, the triumph is fleeting.
With Lawyer Yoon's assistance, Hae-beom dispatches an email containing Geum-son's voice recording to news outlets. The headlines start to blaze, prompting a mass exodus from Geum-son's event. When the Deputy Chief Prosecutor taunts Geum-son, he snaps, assaulting the latter until he lies lifeless. Seong-cheol urges Geum-son to flee, vowing to tidy up the mess.
Does Geum-son meet his demise? Upon Gi-jun's arrival at the hotel, intent on reaching Geum-son, Seong-cheol orders his security to step aside. Feigning intention to lead Gi-jun to Geum-son, he betrays him with a stab, igniting a fierce battle. Though victorious, Gi-jun is anything but pleased, haunted by the necessity to end the life of an old acquaintance.
Driven by a complex emotion, Gi-jun speeds to Geum-son's abode, discovering him seated in his father's chair. He poses a poignant question, querying if the quest was worth the sacrifices made. Geum-son confesses his lifelong fascination with victory, yet admits the allure of his position has dimmed. Disenchanted and weary, he confronts Gi-jun, gun in hand, initially aiming at his adversary before swiftly turning it upon himself. However, before fate could seal his doom, Gi-jun intervenes, slashing his wrist, condemning him to a prolonged, agonizing demise.
As for Nam Gi-jun, does he too succumb to his wounds? The tale concludes with Gi-jun, riddled with gunshot and knife injuries, returning to the campsite where he last shared quiet moments with Gi-seok. His mind replays their heartfelt exchange, and for the first time, tears stream down Gi-jun's face. As night surrenders to dawn, Gi-jun remains still, an unmoving figure in the same chair, symbolizing his passage into eternity.
