The second episode of Mrs. Playmen begins with Adelina grappling with the news of Saro's abandonment and their family's uncertain future. Meanwhile, Elsa is confined to her room, attempting to process the trauma of her rape. Adelina seeks solace with her friend, Carlo, and implores him to speak to the magazine's investors on her behalf.
Carlo informs her that the investors have declined to invest in a magazine already teetering on the brink of collapse. He urges Adelina to sell the press to any interested buyer and save herself from losing her home.
At the Playmen office, Chartoux and Bianchi debate the photos they wish to feature on the next cover. Bianchi suggests publishing the nude photos of a murder victim taken by her husband, the culprit. Adelina resists the idea of exploiting a woman's murder, but the men insist that it could save the magazine from closing down.
At the police station, a cop questions Elsa in a demeaning manner about the rape. Andrea intervenes, stopping his colleague from speaking ill of Elsa, and learns about Playmen's publication of the photos without consent. Elsa files a rape report, but at home, she finds Ettore with his lawyer.
Ettore's lawyer claims that Ettore wants to marry her to save her reputation. Elsa refuses, but her parents consider the offer. She confides in her friend, who suggests she leave for London, but Elsa refuses to go alone.
At the office, Adelina learns about the financial issues stemming from a lack of funds. She begins selling all the cars Saro owns. When she meets Elsa, who blames her for what has happened, Adelina realizes that Elsa was raped because of the photo published in the magazine.
Elsa asks Adelina for money to leave the country. Adelina agrees, but is stopped by her colleagues at the office. Feeling helpless, she visits the priest, Rocco, and confides in him about her problems. Rocco advises her to talk to another troubled woman.
Adelina speaks with a sexually unsatisfied woman, but her questions offend her. In a desperate bid to save funds, Adelina fires her babysitters and drivers and starts taking the bus to work.
At the office, she shells out a substantial sum for the photos of the murdered Markis and orders the team to publish them. She revisits Elsa, offering her a job and an apartment, but Elsa resists.
That night, Chartoux and Luigi meet at a bar. Chartoux tries to evade Luigi's presence, only to be stunned by his company with other women. Meanwhile, Rocco informs Adelina that her advice bore fruit and brought more women in need of guidance. Elsa's mother, on the other hand, urges her to ignore the rape and marry her abuser, claiming that all women experience such ordeal.
At the Playmen office, Chartoux shares with Adelina and the team his radio debate with Masi, a liberal feminist. Adelina suggests catering to female readers and requests more articles on women's needs. Bianchi and Chartoux argue that using the murdered woman's photos would have been more profitable, but Adelina remains steadfast in her resolve to try something new.
Adelina's son, Lorenzo, and Masi's daughter, Anna, are arrested after a protest. Adelina and Masi meet at the police station while retrieving their children. Lorenzo conceals from his mother that Anna is the girl he admires. That night, he visits Anna and discusses his family issues with her. They bond, and Anna kisses him.
Adelina feels lonely as her former friends shun her. She reads the murder victim's diary and learns how her husband forced her to have sex with other men and took photos without her consent. Adelina tells Chartoux that she wants to publish the diary entries with the photos.
That night, Chartoux introduces Luigi to a renowned filmmaker. Luigi thanks him, and they end up in bed. Meanwhile, Adelina pens a powerful article on female sexuality for the next issue. The issue is a hit and sells out immediately.
Elsa appears at the Playmen office and accepts the job. The episode ends with Elsa meeting Andrea and informing him that she will work at Playmen as his spy.
