Episode 2 of "Murder Mindfully" kicks off with a haunting flashback to the tragic ordeal suffered by Igor. After brutally setting Igor on fire and beating him with an iron bar, Dragan boarded the school bus, terrorizing the children and confiscating videos from their phones. Meanwhile, the police, under the leadership of Egmann, are on the hunt for Dragan. Intriguingly, it transpires that Egmann and Diemel attended the same school. Moller, one of the officers, expresses concern about a potential conflict of interest, but Egmann reassures him that everything is in good hands.
Elsewhere, Diemel picks up his daughter from her training session, distracting her with an ice cream cone while he sneaks Dragan into the trunk of his car. As he exits the building, he bumps into Moller, who asks to search the vehicle. Diemel, leveraging his legal prowess, cleverly dodges the search. He even jokingly hints that Dragan might be hiding in the trunk, causing Moller to chuckle and wave him off. However, Egmann soon calls Moller, instructing him to persuade Dragan to surrender. Diemel plays dumb, using his daughter as a shield to deflect suspicion. Little does Emily know that her father is harboring a fugitive murderer in the trunk of their car.
Upon arriving at their lake house, Diemel decides to prioritize quality time with his daughter, deliberately forgetting to release Dragan from the trunk. Tragically, the heat proves fatal for Dragan, who succumbs to it by the end of the night. The following morning, Diemel and Emily enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a swim before heading back to the city. Emily notices an unpleasant odor in the car, but her father dismissively tells her to ignore it.
After safely reuniting Emily with her mother, Diemel checks his phone, finding numerous missed calls and messages that he chooses to disregard. Before he can leave Kathrina's house, Toni, Dragan's right-hand man, arrives with another accomplice. They insist on knowing Dragan's whereabouts, but Diemel, citing safety concerns, refuses to divulge. They urge him to communicate with Dragan on their behalf and relay his instructions. With a turf war looming, they desperately need Dragan to lead them.
With the immediate threat resolved, Diemel turns his attention to the daunting task ahead: the discreet disposal of Dragan's remains. He navigates his way back to the secluded lake house, parking his vehicle inconspicuously in the shed. As he retrieves Dragan's lifeless body from the car, a wave of nausea washes over him, compounding his already troubled mind. Unaccustomed to such grim undertakings, he grapples with devising a plan, each passing moment stretching into an eternity.
Eventually, he summons the resolve by employing Breitner's teachings on maintaining composure and mental clarity. With steely determination, he dissects Dragan's body, subsequently reducing the fragments to manageable pieces with a wood chipper. These minced remains are then carefully scattered into the depths of the lake, ensuring an untraceable end. However, Diemel retains Dragan's ring finger and thumb as macabre souvenirs, an act of defiance against the possibility of future identification.
Meanwhile, in the city, Moller remains oblivious to Diemel's return to the lake house. He hands over to Egmann a set of photographs documenting Diemel and his daughter's joyous moments at the residence. Notably absent is any sign of Dragan, leading Moller to conclude that the lawyer has somehow skirted the looming disaster. Egmann peruses the photos meticulously but finds nothing remotely incriminating.
Back at the lake house, Diemel engages in a ritual of incineration, burning both his clothes and Dragan's, symbolically severing ties with the past. Sitting down to savor a cold beer, he reflects on his actions, finding an unexpected sense of tranquility in the knowledge that he terminated Dragan's menacing presence. In his mind, he has safeguarded the world, and more personally, his daughter, from the clutches of a psychopath. As he savors the chill of his beverage, fate intervenes comically—a curious bird swoops down and carries off the ring finger he had set aside as a grim trophy, leaving Diemel to ponder on the whims of destiny.
