Murder Mindfully – Season 1 Episode 3 1

As he makes his way to work, Diemel's tranquility is disrupted by a call from Murat, urgently requesting a meeting at the game reserve. Murat insists that it pertains to Dragan and that a phone conversation would suffice. Meanwhile, Toni is visibly unraveling under the pressure, particularly as Diemel has been evading his calls.

Upon arriving at the office, Bregenz ushers Diemel into a conference room where three senior partners await, their faces etched with severity. They seize upon the 'attack' on Bregenz and Diemel's decision to bring his daughter to work as a pretext to berate him. Diemel, however, is acutely aware of their true intentions – to find a scapegoat for their dissatisfaction and ultimately terminate his employment. But he heeds Breitner's counsel and allows the partners to vent their frustrations without interruption. When he has reached his limit, he confronts them for their hypocritical demeanor, seizing the opportunity to turn the tables.

With a swift and calculated move, Diemel reveals that the firm has been profiting from Dragan's illicit endeavors. As a non-partner, he argues that any actions he took on Dragan's behalf are ultimately the firm's responsibility. He further stirs the pot by suggesting that Dragan, their lucrative client, would be less than pleased to learn of the firm's disloyalty by firing his favored lawyer. Diemel proposes a graceful exit, suggesting they terminate his contract but allow him to complete the month, thereby leveraging his predicament to his advantage.

Subsequently, he vows to bring Dragan along as a client, conditional upon receiving a generous severance package from the firm. He intends for Dragan to sign a contract and a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), ensuring their dealings remain undisclosed. As the trio ponders over this proposition, Diemel empties his office, meticulously copying all of Dragan's documents and seizing his power of attorney. With that settled, he exits the premises, continuing to disregard Toni's persistent calls, which irritates Toni to the point of sending Sascha to confront Diemel.

Meanwhile, Diemel receives a call from the partners, who have accepted his terms. They urge him to visit at his earliest convenience to finalize the agreement. During his journey back home, Sascha confronts Diemel, urging him to address the turf war issue with Dragan, as Toni's frustration mounts to dangerous levels. Upon arriving home, Diemel sets his mind to creating a thumb mold of Dragan's, an essential tool for his upcoming schemes. The task is arduous, yet he somehow manages to pull it off.

Exhausted, he drifts into slumber until awakened by a call from Kathrina, who wishes to meet to discuss preschool options for their daughter. He agrees to see her the following day, much to Kathrina's surprise, given their usual contentious nature. She also asks him to retrieve a toy Emily had left in his car. Diemel finds the toy and cunningly uses it to record a confession. Soon after, he gets a voice message from Murat inquiring about his arrival. Diemel hastily proceeds to the game reserve, ignoring Toni's repeated calls.

Upon arriving at the reserve, he is astounded to find the police presence. Egmann approaches him, attempting to caution him that the situation is grim. They suspect Boris of murdering Murat, while Dragan remains at large. She劝 Diemel to persuade Dragan to surrender and mentions his recent visit to Dragan's lake house, hinting at her willingness to search his apartment.

Diemel fought to maintain his composure, yet found himself bolting back home after his uneasy exchange with Egmann. As he pondered the most discreet method to dispose of Dragan's thumb, Toni and his curious dog arrived unexpectedly at his doorstep. Diemel attempted to flush the thumb away down the toilet, but it stubbornly refused to budge. Desperate, he concealed it in his pocket, only to have the dog's sharp senses instantly hone in on him.

Toni politely excused himself to attend to the toilet's call, seizing the moment, Diemel hastily fed the thumb to the unsuspecting canine. In a chilling tone, Toni warned Diemel that failure to hear from Dragan soon would lead to dire consequences—his own demise. The episode concludes on an eerie note, with a bird depositing Dragan's ring finger into a cup at a random, unassuming restaurant, leaving a trail of mystery and dread in its wake.
