The narrative then pivots to Hyun-cheol, confined within a VIP hospital ward, where we delve deeper into his motives. Through a chilling flashback, the episode unravels the tragic sequence of events that culminated in his sister's demise. Investors, introduced to the company by Soo-hyun, had taken female trainees, including Ha-na and Hyun-cheol's sister, to a club. There, one of the investors forcibly administered drugged water to Hyun-cheol's sister. Despite Ha-na and Chris's valiant efforts to safeguard the girls, Hyun-cheol's sister stumbled out in a dazed state and was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the road. Despite the evident guilt of the perpetrators, no one was held accountable, kindling Hyun-cheol's insatiable thirst for revenge.

Later, during practice, Soo-hyun and Jun-seok catch sight of Jin-woo's scars, prompting them to broach the subject with him. However, Jin-woo steadfastly denies self-harm, visibly squirming under the confrontation. In a heartfelt gesture, Soo-hyun wraps a scarf around his wrists, assuring him that everything will improve. This tender moment reveals a rare vulnerability and compassion from her, underscoring how deeply attached she has become to Jin-woo.

The following day, Soo-hyun drops Jin-woo off at the dormitories of Star Rise, where dreams and aspirations intermingle. Simultaneously, Hyun-cheol's machinations resume with renewed vigor, as he exerts pressure on the Star Rise producer to propel Ha-na to prominence in the competition while ensuring Jin-woo's elimination. In a random selection for the duet round, Jin-woo gracefully agrees to step into the background, allowing a junior trainee to shine as the main vocalist while he strums the guitar.

Meanwhile, Shim Jin-woo's predicaments at school escalate with alarming speed. The bullies, now casting their malevolent gaze upon other students, resort to stealing assignments for financial gain, using Shim Jin-woo's name in the process. In a dim alleyway, confrontation ignites into violence. A student, tasked with keeping watch over Shim Jin-woo, discreetly captures the altercation and sends the footage to Jin-woo, who is poised to take the stage on Star Rise.

Adding fuel to the fire, Soo-hyun's mother mysteriously disappears, compelling Soo-hyun, her sister, and Jun-seok to prioritize her search over the highly anticipated premiere of Star Rise. Jun-seok eventually locates her in a bustling restaurant, revealing a glimpse into Soo-hyun's tumultuous past. It is here that we uncover how Soo-hyun's father deserted the family for his mistress, leaving Soo-hyun to shoulder the responsibilities of a parent at a tender age, shaping her independent spirit.

As the turmoil unfurls, Jin-woo risks disqualification by venturing out from the dormitories to rescue Shim Jin-woo from his tormentors. Soo-hyun and Jun-seok, still entangled in their own crisis, hastily escort both Jin-woo and Shim Jin-woo back to the dormitories without seeking an explanation for their absence. Within the dormitory walls, an unexpected twist unfolds: Jin-woo's performance from the inaugural episode has gone viral, capturing the hearts and minds of countless viewers. The episode concludes on a tantalizing cliffhanger, as Jin-woo prepares to sit for his maiden interview, poised on the precipice of fame.
