The twelfth episode of "Nice to Not Meet You" commences with Hyeon-jun unburdening his heart to Jeong-sin, revealing the truth about everything. She is so shocked that she can only gape in disbelief, and he escorts her home, even her rice cooker in tow. As Jeong-sin attempts to process the news, Hyeon-jun sends her a text message, apologizing for the unintentional lie and informing her that he will cease messaging her on the Onion app but will continue to communicate via regular text.
Jeong-sin's guilt and horror deepen as she recalls her conversation with Melomaster. She ventures out for a run, reaching Hyeon-jun's apartment building by dawn. He admits her, but she ends up nodding off on the sofa. When she fails to appear for work, Hwa-young tasks one of her team members with reaching out to Jeong-sin. Hyeon-jun answers the call, pretending to be Hong-sin, and informs them that Jeong-sin is feeling unwell.
At Sports Eunseong, Jae-hyeong calls for a meeting with Hwa-young, using it as an excuse to inquire about her son, Jae-ha, whom he met at the hospital. Hwa-young seems delighted by his curiosity about her life.
Meanwhile, Hyeon-jun requests Mr. Hwang to clear his schedule for the day, despite the crucial scenes he has to shoot for Kang Pil-gu. By then, Jeong-sin wakes up and accuses Hyeon-jun of making a fool of her. He tries to convince her that his feelings were genuine, but it falls on deaf ears. Jeong-sin storms off to work but can't shake off Hyeon-jun's face from her thoughts. She even conjures up dramatic scenarios of what would happen if she starts dating Hyeon-jun.
During the Kang Pil-gu shoot, Hyeon-jun misinterprets an action sequence and inadvertently hurts a stuntman. The crew, already irritated by his tardiness, becomes even more frustrated. At Sports Eunsang, Jeong-sin asks Hwa-young to assign a different reporter to cover Kang Pil-gu. She then calls Hyeon-jun and asks to meet him. They settle on a meeting at 3 o'clock.
Hyeon-jun's next scene requires him to grab Hong-sin by the collar, which makes him feel a bit awkward. As a result, he messes up and needs multiple takes. As soon as the shoot is over, he rushes to meet Jeong-sin. However, more drama unfolds on Byeong-gi's set as he attempts to shoot a scene in which Ae-suk's character slaps Oh Mi-ran's character. Ae-suk offers a very real slap, which then escalates into a full-blown brawl between the two actresses.
As Hyeon-jun and Jeong-sin met at the coffee shop, he chose to leave his hat behind, a subtle yet conspicuous sign that he was unmasked to the world. As he ordered his coffee, Mr. Hwang's urgent call interrupted the tranquility, imploring him to return home amidst his mother's ongoing struggle. Upon his return to their table, Hyeon-jun's anxiety began to spiral out of control, prompting Jeong-sin to guide him outside. She urged him to let the sun's warmth envelop him, a suggestion they had shared during their thoughtful chats on the app. There, she offered her shoulder as a cushion for his head, providing him with a moment of respite and comfort in her embrace.
