No One Saw Us Leave – Season 1 Episode 1 1

As the plane soars over the Atlantic, Leo does his utmost to keep the children content and calm amidst the flight to France. Meanwhile, back in Mexico, Valeria returns home to find her husband and children conspicuously absent. The house manager's explanation of Leo's absence only deepens her anxiety.

Hours pass by, and Valeria's nerves fray as she becomes increasingly concerned. She reaches out to her in-laws, Gabby and Carlos, especially Gabby, Leo's sister, inquiring if Samuel has any clue about the kids' whereabouts. It emerges that Leo seldom acts without his father's blessing. Sara reveals that even Samuel is in the dark about their disappearance.

A glimmer of hope dawns on Valeria as she remembers the passports – they're missing. She drives to Samuel's residence, only to be met with a cold reception from him. He brusquely advises her to forget about the children, insinuating that she has harmed them and knows why Leo took them away. Valeria implores Gayla, Samuel's wife, to intervene, but they all remain indifferent.

In Paris, Leo reunites with his old friend Michel, who aids them in securing a temporary abode. It transpires that Samuel has meticulously planned every detail to ensure a seamless transition for Leo and the children.

The children struggle mightily with adjusting to their new surroundings, burdened not only by the unfamiliarity but also by the lack of familiar tastes in their food. Leo's inability to conjure up their beloved egg dish only adds to their distress, and the absence of Tammy's cherished giraffe doll exacerbates their sense of displacement. Their anticipation of reunion with their mother during this supposed vacation is tinged with anxiety.

In Mexico, Valeria's worries for her children reach a crescendo. Her father introduces her to Elias, a former Mossad operative, seeking any information that might lead them to Leo and the kids' whereabouts. Valeria is firm in her belief that Leo and the children may have ventured to Israel. Elias takes off on this lead with determination.

As Valeria relives the day of her wedding, she finds herself questioning her decision to marry Leo. Her parents, however, saw their union as a financial boon, while Samuel, working alongside Valeria's father, Moishe, and others on a new hospital wing, had urged Leo to join them in their venture. But Leo's heart was elsewhere, yearning only to complete his studies in architecture and lead a modest life.

In the present, Valeria sifts through old family videos with her father, and Elias returns with news that Leo has taken the children to France under an assumed identity. Despite her father's admonitions, Valeria insists on joining Elias on his journey to France. The house manager steps in to help her prepare swiftly, and as they are about to depart, Moishe appears, offering Valeria a reassuring embrace.

Meanwhile, Leo enrolls the children in a new French school, telling the principal a lie that Valeria is mentally unstable and should be in a mental hospital. The deception casts a shadow over their temporary respite in a foreign land.

He laments that Valeria's father's assistance in her escape from the hospital has left him uneasy, fearing she might return to cause harm to the children. In a bid to thank her for her cooperation, he bribes the school principal with a donation. However, the children, unaware of the underlying motives, become sulky upon realizing their father's deception. They had anticipated a vacation and were perplexed about enrolling in a new school.

Upon arriving in France, Elias confides in his friend in the police force, who assigns two officers to assist Valeria. They also discover that Leo had provided an address in his entrance form, leading them to begin their investigation at this location. Despite hitting a dead end, Valeria remains determined to find a solution.

Meanwhile, Leo receives a package from Michel, containing new school uniforms purchased by Samuel's friend. The accompanying letter queries Samuel's influence on Leo's life.

Flashing back to Leo's wedding day, he shares his doubts about the marriage, but Samuel convinces him that it's a common experience and believes that Samuel and Valeria are better suited for each other than Gabby and Carlos. Similarly, Valeria had her doubts but was reassured by her mother. Carlos was the only one who truly understood what Valeria was feeling at that moment.

As Valeria returns to the hotel while Elias and the police officers continue their investigation, she takes a bath and is reminded of her routine with Tammy. Elias interrupts to inform her of a new lead: the house Leo noted on the form belonged to Michel, and they have found his address. Valeria insists on accompanying them. On their way out, she encounters Carlos, who has flown in for moral support, but their closeness is undeniable.

Unfortunately, Michel is tipped off when someone calls his house with numerous questions about Leo. He visits Leo and advises him to fetch the children from school. Leo initially insists on talking to his father first, but after a call to Samuel, he is advised to be a man and focus on what is best for his family – keeping Valeria away from the children. Leo dislikes this advice but is unable to think for himself.

Elias suggests checking the school that Michel's children attend, which turns out to be the same school Leo took the kids to.

Alas, the principal denies Valeria the opportunity to witness the children's whereabouts, instructing her to wait in the office while Leo and Michel hastily orchestrate a scheme to whisk the kids away from their classes. Valeria senses an underlying unease and bolts from the office, her heart racing. She catches a glimpse of Leo dragging the children, their cries muffled by his grip. She hurls open a window and shouts to the children, her voice echoing through the empty corridors.

As she descends the stairs with renewed urgency, more men, dispatched by Samuel, arrive on the scene. They swiftly load the children into a car, Valeria's desperate pleas to halt the abduction falling on deaf ears. By the time she reaches the bottom of the stairs, the car has already vanished into the distance, its engine roaring into the night.
