Nevertheless, she continues to fret that he might stab her as they both slump at a roadside motel. They argue, but this time, their words lack their usual bite, as he rubs her sore feet. They eventually start talking about their limitations and loneliness. As the night grows cold, Si-yeol offers Eun-ho his jacket. She thinks he's flirting with her, and he becomes flustered.

No Tail to Tell – K-drama Episode 5 1

Back in London, Woo-seok goes through the trophies he has "won," looking sad and getting a gut feeling that everything might disappear the next day. Uh-oh, foreshadowing?

The next day, Si-yeol and Eun-ho are much better prepared for their second hike. It's far from smooth, as there are too many people and he has to catch her when she trips. Once night falls, they realize that they are truly stranded and start to spiral as Si-yeol sprains his ankle, loses the map, and his phone dies.

Fortunately, the fox actually shows up. She looks exactly like Geum-ho but doesn't have her memories. Eun-ho is enraged, believing that the heavens are toying with them. She storms off and rants to the gods, refusing to play their game. Geum-ho 2.0 heals Si-yeol's ankle, and they find Eun-ho. Si-yeol is confused by her outburst, and Eun-ho tells him about her dead friend. He suggests focusing on their problem first, and Geum-ho 2.0 gives it a shot. Things start disappearing from Woo-seok's home, and he panics. Soon it stops, and he tries to call Si-yeol.

Back in South Korea, Geum-ho reveals that she doesn't have the power to reverse a fate-switching spell. She's an eight-tailed fox for the last 500 years. When a fox wants to become human, it starts achieving enlightenment, losing its animal form and starting to gain a human form. By cultivating virtue, it also starts gaining several tails. Geum-ho 2.0 has yet to gain her 9th tail.

When Eun-ho reveals her true identity, Geum-ho 2.0 is thrilled, claiming that the Mountain God had foretold her that Eun-ho would aid her in attaining humanity. Frustrated by the ceaseless manipulation from the heavens, Eun-ho angrily lashes out at Geum-ho 2.0 and leaves the following day.

In the meantime, CEO Lee Yoon instructs Secretary Choi to investigate the foxes. Choi is skeptical when Yoon recalls hitting Si-yeol (when he was supposed to hit Woo-seok). Instead, he asks Choi to focus on Si-yeol.

On the road, Si-yeol and Eun-ho try to devise a new plan. He teases her with her human name - Ok-sun, and she responds grumpily. The car runs out of fuel, and he realizes he has lost his wallet. As they walk, he suggests using Eun-ho's cash and money. However, it is all situated in Myohyangsan Mountain in... North Korea. She has put up a barrier so even Geum-ho 2.0 can't find it.

Meanwhile, Geum-ho 2.0 finds Si-yeol's wallet in her den when Lord Pagun suddenly appears. As for Si-yeol and Eun-ho, they finally arrive in Seoul by hitchhiking. He wonders if her clients will help, and she calls him naive.

Just then, Woo-seok shows up and apologizes for hiding. He begs Si-yeol to give him a week before they switch. Si-yeol finally understands Woo-seok's desperation and agrees. They are hugging and patching up when Geum-ho 2.0 shows up and claims she has found a way to fix everything.
