Episode 9 of "No Tail to Tell" begins with Si-yeol kissing Eun-ho. She pushes him away, and he boldly declares that if they are going to date, they should do it the right way. This action leaves her flustered, and she can't stop thinking about his proposal all night. Similarly, Eun-ho seems to be panicking and regretting his bold move.

The next morning, the two are extremely awkward as they try to avoid each other, with Eun-ho even trying to hide under the table. Meanwhile, Woo-seok informs CEO Lee Yoon and Do-cheol that Eun-ho is human now. Yoon's excitement quickly turns to annoyance as Do-cheol is not interested in revenge or killing without any gain. He only targets foxes so he can gain power from fox beads and threatens Woo-seok until he learns that there is a second fox who erased his memory.
Woo-seok wants to warn Si-yeol, but Do-cheol assures him that he won't touch his friend. The boy also wonders if he will get to stay with Si-yeol if Geum-ho 2.0 is killed. His dad announces that there is an international match, and he seems lost. As Woo-seok heads out for his match, his teammates and the staff all fawn over him, making him feel uncomfortable.
Back to our main lead, Si-yeol decides to work out with Eun-ho, and she hates every minute of it. However, he looks after her, and her heart races. Next, they play soccer and have a fun time. As they head back, he holds her hand, and she is delighted. She is surprised that he plans to work and orders him to train while she handles the money aspect.
But her job applicants are rejected because of her "fake" resume. The only job she gets is at a grocery store, where she struggles in each post, eventually accidentally messing up the change and owing the store 50k. Desperate, she decides to sell something.
As for Si-yeol, training is canceled, and his teammates refuse to join him as they play in an internet cafe. One of the teammates, Beom, believes someone is watching him, but the others laugh it off. Si-yeol finds Coach Yong-gil drunk as the nursing home sponsor has backed out.
That night, Si-yeol heads home but her date night is interrupted as the team shows up to watch Woo-seok's international match. Eun-ho agrees for the free food and drinks the team brings, making Si-yeol annoyed. Beom again feels something is off, and there is lightning. Eun-ho drags Si-yeol outside as it turns out to be Geum-ho 2.0.
Elsewhere, Yoon has returned to the company permanently now that Eun-ho can no longer threaten him. Secretary Choi informs him that Do-cheol is looking for something, and as planned, he has successfully blackmailed the nursing home into canceling the sponsorship of Si-yeol’s team.
Back at Si-yeol’s, Geum-ho 2.0 reveals that she has gained immense spiritual power. However, Eun-ho realizes that it is just an excuse as Geum-ho 2.0 has fallen for Beom and is constantly stalking him. Eun-ho tries to scold her for falling for a broke man and ends up having to defend why she likes Si-yeol. He is amused by the whole thing when the boys interrupt.
Si-yeol’s air conditioning and outdoor unit have been stolen! Eun-ho proudly reveals that she sold them as it is winter, only to learn that she got paid half the price. She gets drunk and Si-yeol takes care of her. She starts crying, realizing that being human is hard. She ends up crying even harder as she realizes that Woo-seok is playing in Si-yeol’s place. She promises to fix his life and he is touched. They are about to kiss for real when the boys suddenly state that Woo-seok has collapsed due to a cardiac arrest.
At the stadium, Woo-seok seems to be panicking and his heart is beating too quickly before the match. He falls and is rushed to the hospital.
Si-yeol wonders if this was his fate – that he was meant to die. Eun-ho reveals that if Woo-seok dies, she cannot reverse their fate and bring him back to life.
