In the fourth episode of Not Dead Yet, Nell abruptly exits her room, leaving Edwin engrossed in a captivating computer game titled Space Shift. The revelation shatters Nell's composure, leaving her heartbroken.

Irritated, Nell interrupts Edward's gaming session, demanding an honest assessment. She asks if the woman in the picture bears any resemblance to her. Edward offers a tepid response, noting that the lady's eyes lack the hooded charm of Nell's.

Seeking solace, Nell ventures out for a cup of coffee. Rand, the spectral presence of this episode, chastises her for overpaying for her beverage, a habit that appears odd to passing bystanders. Their argument escalates, revealing Rand's unexpected identity as a celebrated mathematical genius.

Later, Nell heads to the office where her friend Denis inquiries about Philip and his newfound romance, commenting on the beauty of the pastry chef. Suddenly, she encounters Simon, the fresh intern, and assigns him the task of gathering any available information about the new girlfriend.

Inside the office, Sam attempts to offer Nell a shoulder to lean on. Tina, a colleague, informs Nell that she warmed up her salad but strangely withholds it from her. Later, Sam, Lexi, and Dennis convene, scrolling through Nell's lackluster social media posts and debating whether to introduce her to other potential suitors.

Lexi summoned Nell and discovered their ulterior motive: to set her up on a date. Immediately, she became guarded and wary. Realizing that Philips' girlfriend was the epitome of desirability, Lexi capitulated, insisting on being paired with any man at all.

Her inaugural encounter was intriguing, yet he cleverly employed acts of service to skirt the actual date. Later, they crossed paths with Edward, and after a cordial introduction, a profound friendship began to bloom. The newly formed pals met again to indulge in a computer game, lost in their shared interest.

Back in the office, Lexi arranged a meeting between Nell and a family acquaintance, but he politely excused himself and departed. Nell responded with a poignant revelation, suggesting that perhaps she was cut from the same cloth as Rand.

Sam found Nell in a pensive mood, offering comfort and inquiring about her well-being. It was evident that Nell was engaged in conversation with unseen entities, as she spoke to the air instead of the ghosts that only she could perceive. Sam arranged a meeting between Nell and a friend, introducing them to each other. It transpired that he was a father, his conversation filled with anecdotes about his children. In the process, he struck up a friendship with Sam, who shared the bond of being a mother to two children. However, a call from his home interrupted their pleasant exchange, and he reluctantly canceled their date.

Meanwhile, Nell convened with Cricket, posing the question of whether love was an unsolvable equation. Cricket responded with wisdom, advocating patience and time in matters of the heart. As their conversation unfolded, Nell encountered another spectral presence, Jesse, whose perfect appearance was beyond compare. They enjoyed a magical time together, until Nell realized the truth of his ethereal nature when they posed for a photograph. Jesse did not materialize in the frame, leaving only an empty space where he had stood.
