Days pass, and Pam diligently works to imprint a fabricated past on Jules, even attempting to fabricate a fake friend. But it's Pam herself who Jules finds a bond with. Once Jules is adopted, Wes and Neva strive to make her feel at home.

Meanwhile, Jack and Lucy arrive at Beacon Bayview. A nurse overheads their inquiries about Jules and mentions Pam Teller, revealing her as an unauthorized private hire. Intriguingly, the nurse mentions that Jules has been experiencing the same bloody dream that plagues Lucy.

Elsewhere, Kira reunites with Josh, a former colleague. Their shared history involves the printing of Lucy, and Kira worries that a malfunction might have rendered her dangerous. Josh assures Kira that Lucy is a flawless replica, completely human. Guilt weighs on Kira's heart as she recalls her unintended abandonment of Lucy.

We catch Jules in a classroom, surreptitiously selling drugs to Claire, a potential relationship deeper than mere friendship. Yet, each time she sees the pink ink, her mind begins to wander. Pam pulls her out of class, inquiring about her absence the previous day, her intrusive inquiries leaving Jules uneasy. Jules queries Pam about the sender of her belongings and the disjointed nature of her diary entries. Pam's therapist response fails to satisfy Jules' curiosity.

At their home, Jules and Wes delve into her diary, uncovering an entry that mirrors a passage from the novel "Pegasus Girl." They swiftly locate the author, David Stanley's, address online and make a visit. Upon their arrival, Stanley's facade crumbles, confessing that he had been commissioned to write the diary as part of a study. He pleads with them not to expose him to his employers, revealing he had appropriated a few lines for his novel.

Meanwhile, Emily and Tom uncover CCTV footage of Lucy entering Neva's office. Emily's doubts grow as the autopsy reveals that the bounty hunter was shot by someone shorter than Lucy. She ponders if Lucy is not truly dangerous, but rather trapped in a corner. Tom, however, remains steadfast in his shoot-first, ask-questions-later mentality.

Kira arrives, seeking Darros' assurance that his people won't harm Lucy. He jests, grinning broadly, that he's not a movie villain and will ensure her safety. Yet, Kira remains unconvinced, particularly when she notices Emily fidgeting. She delves into the security agent's background, uncovering his former CIA ties. Alone, she approaches Emily, who simply urges Kira to find Lucy before Darros Security does.

Elsewhere, Charlie struggles with PTSD, finding it difficult to adjust. Tina attempts to take her to a park, but Charlie is overwhelmed and accidentally pushes someone. When a cop arrives, Charlie confesses to killing the hunter, feeling immense guilt. Tina quickly resolves the situation, but neither Jack nor Lucy can reach Charlie's troubled soul. In a final act of closure, they hold a funeral for the fallen hunter.

Lucy receives an unexpected visitor in the form of Jules, who finally believes her story. They ponder over the bloody memory, and Jules has an idea — she makes drugs that enhance dreams, making them clearer. She rushes home to retrieve them, and despite Lucy's warnings, Jules is confident that nothing will happen as no one suspects her.

It appears to be a different scenario, as Pam has raised a red flag for the Lees, informing them that Jules is enduring unhealthy disturbances and surrounding herself with undesirable companions. In the climactic conclusion of Orphan Black: Echoes Episode 3, the Lees coerce Jules into ingesting "antidepressants," but once alone, she regurgitates them in disgust.
